This hospital is the worst when it comes to communication. I had some trouble urinating, so I went to try and figure out what was going on. They said, they thought I had an STD, even though I told them I had not been sexually active.
They tested for STD's anyways. 30 minutes later, a nurse comes in, and coldly orders me to lay on my side. Then she prepares a syringe, and gets ready to stick me, before I stop her and ask her what she is giving me. She gets all huffy, and says it's for my gonorrhea. So I say, Oh, I tested positive? Again, all huffy, NO, YOU TESTED NEGATIVE. OK, well then I'll pass on being treated for gonorrhea then, seeing as how I don't have any of the symptoms.
She storms off, all angry, and I wait about 45 minutes until another nurse comes in. She asks if I'm feeling better. No, because I haven't been treated for anything. She asks me my symptoms again, and I explain everything. She says it sounds like I need to see the urologist, and she asks if she'd like me to send him over. I say yes. 15 minutes later, another nurse comes in and gives me discharge papers.
For that, I get a bill of just under $7000. If I'm ever dying, I'd take my chances and go to a different hospital, even if it was further away. At least you'd get competent help somewhere else.
There were two nice ladies that worked at the greeting desk, but inside the hospital everybody was cold and condescending. I don't expect warm and friendly in a hospital, but when I'm sick and all I want is to know whats wrong with me, I don't want to be talked down to like a child.
