Wonderful Community!! 2/26/2010

I have only had a good experience with Spicewood Crossing. I love my apartment! When my inlaws come over to visit they always comment on how proud they are of us to have such a lovely home. The crown modling, my beautiful island, and the built in bookshelves add to the elegance of my place! I have lived here a year and hope to stay for many more!! Pros: Continue to love living here more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible 9/2/2009

HORRIBLE is the only way to discribe my expirience at this propety.Lived here for a year and hated the way management treated residents. The property manager is very rude unpolitical and very unprofessional. They want to charge you every penny possible after move out and not to mention the almost 300.00 charge to clean the carpet after i had already paid a contractor to come clean it. Office staff is extreamly rude and acts as if they are doing you a favor any time you have a question or a request. The make you feel not welcomed. I know that our curtesy potrol moved out bc the manager was driving him crazy with all her stupid complaints. I am very disapointed with Spicewood and the way the manage their property I do not recomend them to anyone. This is the only property that I have ever had problems with and this is considering the fact that I have lived in very nice, upscale apartments. This is by far the worst of the worst. more

The worst experience in an apartment - do not respond to emergencies in a timely manner 4/29/2008

I lived in unit 213 for about 9 months and was let out of my lease (after a letter to Protea Real Estate). A pipe was leaking in the above unit-a neighbor said he noticed standing water in the breeze way several times, but didn't know where it was coming from. In Feb, it started leaking into my shower in the master bath. After it was fixed, it completely busted a few weeks later and flooded the master bath/bedroom, a couple feet into the living area, whole dining area and went past the bar area in the kitchen. I left messages on the emergency maintenance line several times & waited 3-4 hrs before anyone returned my call-also called the security officer, but no response. Water was extracted from the carpet that day, but no fan or dehumidifier was given to me for 5 days. If I didn't call to complain about humidity levels at 60-70% and the carpet being damp I wouldn't have been given anything! The manager never called to see how things were progressing. There was some mold growth on the walls and other places by the end of the week (cleaned by the maintenance person). I cleaned mold before moving (since they could not see it and refused to admit it was there). For the amount of time and amount of water, my common sense would make me think there is mold between the walls and under the master bathroom vanity. The bathroom still smells like mold or mildew and there is still green/black fur under the vanity and behind it. Pros: trash pick up, lay out of the 2/2, nobody wants to pay for a covered parking spot so you don't have to park next to anyone Cons: the staff if you have a problem, loud kids in the parking lot, no guest parking, possible mold issues more
