I am fairly new to this club its extremely clean and for the most part a really nice gym. If you are going for training sessions I would make sure you get some info on what trainer they are placing you with and how long they have been there, etc. They also have different trainer levels which I was unaware of until recently. If you want a really good, professional and PROMPT trainer ask for Alisha, she is AWESOME! Can't say enough good things about her! more

Fantastic fitness facility in Santa Barbara 1/2/2009

I live in Baltimore most of the year, but have a condo in Santa Barbara that my wife and I return to 2-4 times a year for R & R. In Fall 2007 I joined Spectrum Uptown as a full-time member while on sabbatical in S.B. and was a regular user of the facility which I found to be very well run, consistently clean and orderly and very friendly. I also got to know Lisa and Cindy who helped me set up an active membership for Fall 2007 and an inexpensive inactive status for me while I was away from S.B. The inactive status could easily be reactivated for longer return trips, and this made it extremely convenient for me to come and go and still have access to the fitness facilities when I was in town. Best health club in town 9/20/2007

Cindy and her staff are the most professional health club staff I have seen. The club is a great place to work out. whether you are young or old. The equipment is in great order and the place is CLEAN. My wife loves the classes and my 5 year old loves the Kids Club. The staff is always friendly, there are always clean towels, and the clientele first class. Javier, who signed us up is extremely passionate about health and has bent over backwards to make sure my family is enjoying our membership. There is plenty of room and equipment. It allows me to get in, do my workout and get out quickly. Kudos to Cindy for doing a great job and as a bonus, she is a sweetheart! Pros: space, staff and equipment Cons: parking at times more

great gym with two locations 8/14/2007

When pushed to my bandwidth on UC frat riff raff, I finally listened to my co-workers and visited the Spectrum club. I found it difficult to leave my gym, 24, because I had been a member for over 9 years, but it was the best thing to do. The atmoshpere is better and the club is cleaner. I never thought of these issues before, so not to knock my old gym, I just wanted something better and I was willing to pay for it. I actually enjoy my workouts more and the spectrum club has a second location in walking distance from my office. These are great gyms. If you are looking for a better place to workout, go see it, you will be very surprised. Pros: Good clean professional health club Cons: double the cost of my last gym, but you get what you pay for more

Membership does have it's priviledges, especially at Spectrum Uptown 7/24/2007

Hats off to Cindy and the crew at Spectrum Uptown in Santa Barbara. They are constantly working to make our club the very best it can be. This week I enjoyed the newly reconstructed sauna, while my wife worked out on one of the many new cardio machines that have just arrived. Pros: great management, clean facility with new equipment, great teachers, convenient location Cons: parking is generally available, but sometimes a little crowded at peak hours more

Friendly staff 5/12/2007

I have found all the employees at Spectrum to be knowledgable, helpful and friendly. At certain times, it is very quiet and condusive to a good workout. The equipment is relatively new and is clean. They also read and implement suggestions such as banning cell phones in the gym. Pros: Clean, new equipment Cons: Little parking more

I've been a member of Gold's Gym in Santa Barbara since 1990, and am still a member as it's Spectrum. The club has always had very good member relations, and I've worked out at all 3 clubs and found generally excellent service. more

Get Payed to Play! 4/1/2007

My expiercince at the Uptown location was outstanding. For starters the front desk staff greeted me with an genuine enthusiastic smile. And engaged me with a question that I still ask myself everytime I go into the club and workout. "" Are you getting paid to workout? Are you earning Your Health Miles with todays workout? A GREAT GYM EXPERIENCE! EVERYTHING I NEEDED AND MUCH MORE! 3/29/2007

I've been away from the gym for a while and was pleasantly surprised how comfortable and supportive everyone made me feel. It's hard to get back to a regular routine but knowing I had such encouragement made me it much easier! Great Customer Service & Beautiful Facilities! 3/25/2007

I went to Spectrum Uptown when I was visiting Santa Barbara and had the most awesome experience. I appreciated the staff's helpfulness. The equipment was clean and had so many options. I caught my favorite television show on the treadmill and then used the strength training equipment for a great workout. I finished off my exercise with a yoga class that left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I took a sauna and then used the locker room facilities to shower. They have all sorts of shampoos, cremes and lotions if you forgot your own. They even have razors at this club. I highly recommend Spectrum Uptown as a place to get a satisfying workout and experience while in town. more

Best health club in Santa Barbara. I will return! 3/25/2007

Found the club to be extremely clean. It had almost all of the workout equipment imaginable. The staff was very courtious and helpful. Club is highly recommended more
