Good place to eat... 4/14/2006

Spanky's is just a Lubbock tradition. Their fried cheese is soo... good, but it is HUGE, so go hungry with a bunch of friends. They have great burgers and sandwiches. They are located right across the street from Tech, and are easy to walk to after foot ball games. If you are in the mood for some great food, Spanky's is the place to go! more

Wonderful Burgers 9/13/2005

Spanky's is one of the best burger places in Lubbock bar none. They have some of the biggest burgers in town, plus everything is cooked really well and they actually dress the burger for you (unlike fuddruckers). Also the fried cheese is awesome and is definitely a must if you go. The rustic atmosphere and the 2nd floor terrace overlooking the football field also adds to Spanky's appeal. For a quick bite or for a hearty meal, Spanky's should definitely be your choice. more

The Fries are awesome, great service also. Something you have to try is the fried cheese. Best place to get them. Service is also great, the staff and everyone is very nice. Must try this place at lease one time, you will love it. more

Yummmmmmmm! 8/9/2005

Spanky's is located across the street from the University and is a favorite lunch spot. Get there early during lunch time to avoid the crowds. They have the BEST burgers and fried cheese I have ever eaten. Everything is reasonably priced and nothing is cooked until it is ordered. The shop is small. They have additional seating upstairs, including an outside patio which is nice when it isn't too windy. This place is definitely a place you must visit. Try the fried cheese--huge pieces of mozzarella cheese, fried and served with marinara sauce and ranch dressing. I've never had anything like it elsewhere. more
