Great Airline for the Disabled 10/24/2006

Southwest Airlines has to be the most caring about its passengers, especially handicapped or disabled. Southwest Airlines is ALWAYS my first choice! I saw someone else wrote in their review that SW is expensive however I find it to be the exact opposite! If you catch it early enough or try to make your flight arrangements around sales you can fly as cheap as $60 (plus taxes) round trip!!!! I belong to their rapid rewards program although I haven't gotten to take advantage of it yet because I don't fly often enough but I also am signed up for the emails they send out announcing sales. If you want cheap flights, sign up for their email alerts and you'll be amazed! If you are able to give a 14 day notice I believe that Southwest Airlines is the least expensive with the best service! more

Southwest Airlines is all about the Customer 4/14/2006

Not only does Southwest Airlines always offer great prices, they usually have a promotional fare on their website that is considerably less than other airlines. Recenlty my family of 4 flew non-stop from Los Angeles to Kansas City for $714.00 including all taxes. Most of the other airlines charges atleast $200 per person without the taxes! The boarding procedure is one in which you have to wait in line to board by either group A,B, or C. Southwest offers on-line checkin any time within the 24 hours prior to your flight taking off which helps to get into the A group. They have pre-boarding for people travelling with children ages 5 and under. Once in a while, you will even get a flight attendant who is an aspiring comedian that will put on a mini show for you while on the flight. They do not really offer meals on a Southwest flight, but you can get all the peanuts and other snacks you can eat for free. I think it is a great value! more

Cheap but you pay in other ways 4/3/2006

Southwest Airlines has relatively cheap filghts out of Phoenix. Since they are based here, we get a good selection of places to go. I can usually book flights easily and there always seems to be availability to the places I go. The problem is the cattle service that you get. It really irks me not to have an assigned seat. I hate fighting to get in the lines, and the mad rush to the seats. It always gives me anxiety! There are always people trying to cram all of their luggage into every nook and cranny, and never a place for my one little bag, except under the seat in front of me. This is a pain, as my legs are long, and I like the little space you can gain from that area. So, if you don't mind the hassles, you can get their fairly on time, and cheaply, but that is about it. more

Rapid Rewards are Great! 3/28/2006

How I wish that there were an airport closer than BWI or Norfolk that Southwest would fly into or out of in the Virginia area! My dad uses a Rapid Rewards credit card and build free flights quickly. We were having a hard time finding a cheap enough flight and he let us use two of his flights. I booked the flights using the Rapid Rewards coupons, but then found cheaper flights. The nice thing with the Rapid Rewards coupon is you can cancel your reservation with no penalty at all. It was comforting to be able to reserve a flight for more than 24 hours without being totally locked (or risking huge penalties). If there were a Southwest airport closer, I would be working toward free flights all the time! more
