I lived at South Point Apartments for 3 years. It has steadily gone downhill. Periodic apartment inspections have ceased. Parking tags have been discontinued so there are never any parking places. Half the time, you will walk across the complex from your parking space. Apartments are being broken into. Vehicles have the wheels stolen off them during the night. The vehicles are left on blocks for weeks. The clientele has steadily gone downhill. The police arrive every evening, sometimes multiple times, to deal with issues. You can forget about going to the swimming pool. It's filled with people from other complexes and they dare you to do anything about it. The place has become a drug haven. There is constant traffic through the complex because of this. Maintenance is sadly lacking. It takes weeks or months to get something repaired. To get the bathroom exhaust fixed, after 9 weeks, I withheld the rent payment. It was fixed that day. Conversations with other tenants centered around maintenance, specifically water leaks, broken appliances, water leaks, worn out eletrical receptacles, water leaks, etc. After 3 years of this, I moved out. I received my deposit back within 2 weeks, less the $25.00 late fee. I wrote a letter to the operating partners. His reply was that even if they fix nothing, there is no acceptable excuse for a late rental payment. So, if you decide to move into South Point Apartments, you have been forewarned.
