South Beach State Park offers a sandy campground experience. With the park tucked into transition zone of shrubs and sand, you don’t have to leave the gritty stuff at the beach. A variety of camping areas are offered with some right next to the sand dunes and others tucked into the hills behind. Even the spots snug into the small trees only have a short walk to the ocean and a day of frolic and fun. Friendly atmosphere and people abound, with open areas for impromptu ball games in addition to the long sandy beach. more

South Beach State Park 2/16/2006

We enjoyed visiting South Beach Campground and staying in Yurt. Avid campers, we were not sure what to expect from our Yurt experience, but we LOVED it. No set up or take down of the campsite. The yurts are newer, well built, heated and have beds, tables and chairs… nice after a day at the beach to have a warm dry place to warm up and clean up. The South Beach site is open with little trees, but right next to the beach. A short trail leads you to the sand and at your campsite you can enjoy the sounds of the waves. more
