I recently started going to Alex at source and I will say this boy can work magic with hair! I went in looking for a new stylist and it just happen that he was available. Something about his smile made me trust the suggestions he had so i was happily convinced in coloring my hair and adding extensions to make my hair longer and fuller. Lets just say whatever Alex suggests from now on i'll do! i haven't had so many compliments about my hair before until he did it! They are waxed, tweezed and tinted by the brow queen DANA! Plus, she is a master esthetician, made me glow after a facial, no redness or pain what so ever! So relaxing... Can't wait to see her again! Saturday, I went in and Michelle extended my lashes I am so amazed!, Before, I really had very short lashes and even when I applied mascara it had little or no change. But, now...OMG, I have nice long lashes and I don't have to even bother with mascara! Michelle is a true artist, she told me she loves doing this service and it shows. I have been following Michelle around for 8 years. I am a devoted customer and am so pleased that she and her friend have been able to open their own salon and spa. Michelle does my facials along with brow and lip waxing. I am always so pleased with the work she does. She is friendly, one of the nicest people I have ever met and very professional. Jamie has been cutting my hair for the past 6-7 years. I've followed her from salon to salon and we've even talked about if she moved to another city, how I would have to make a road trip to seek her out for my haircuts - she's that good! Jamie really knows hair and is so good at understanding what works well for your type of hair and face shape. I am Asian and have had trouble in the past with really bad haircuts, but Jamie knows my hair and what it does so well that I don't even say anything anymore. I just sit in the chair and get a great haircut that grows out so well and lasts longer than any haircuts I've received from other stylists. If you need a great haircut go see Jamie! I started going to Michelle for facial waxing a couple of years ago and have been seeing her regularly ever since. For years I endured spotty waxing results, until finding Michelle. Michelle gives a new definition to the term salon. Generally salon experiences a geared for women. But Source is gender neutral. Even though I'm a guy, I do prefer to be well groomed. Michelle waxes my eyebrows without making me feel or ""look"" like a girl. Finally, I can say with confidence...""I'm going to the salon today"" and not feel weird about it. more

What I like best about Source is their philosophy of beauty. These girls are ""The Real McCoy"". They really believe in you as the source of beauty and practice what they preach. Michelle started a method of repair and treatment for my adult acne and stress more than two years ago (when Source was still in a dream-like state). After seeing several dermatologists, I was doubtful that anyone could offer help that didn't require medication, but she convinced me to give her a shot. She spent time listening to my needs and concerns before she started a treatment. She made me feel safe, informed and comfortable. I saw results right away and that was it...I was hooked! I've followed Michelle, and her magic fingers, as she has created and made her way to Source and I'm still here...but with more confidence and better skin. I never write reviews but I had to on this one. I was panicked and had to get a cut and color today! Lisa was available and just aced it. I am very particular about my color and she nailed it! The experience I feel compelled to write about however is HOW she did it. She took the time to give me a great scalp massage, listened to my concerns and simply took the time to do the job right. We laughed, shared stories and it turns out we even shared a friend. What a treat to find her. If you're reading this Lisa, see you next month and Thanks!!! more

Dana has helped me tame my unruly brows for the last 4 1/2 years and she always does a fantastic job. I'm always getting compliments on them and I love the way they frame my face and make my eyes pop now with their darker tint. If you want a perfect haircut ask for Jamie. She has been cutting my hair for the past 6 years. I have followed her when she has changed locations and love her new one. I have never had so many strangers ask me who cuts my hair as I have since Jamie has been cutting it. I was in Mexico recently and a women asked me where I got my haircut. I told her in the states and she asked me if I would go to lunch with her so she could take me to her stylist so the cut could be copied. I live on the eastside and have no trouble going to Ballard to see her. You won't be disappointed. She listens and the grow out is great which is a pleasure so my hair always looks great more

I recently checked out the new salon because Jamie is there. She has worked on my hair over the last 4 years and is very experienced. The salon is clean, beautiful , technically advanced, and has a zen-like charm. The product lines they have chosen are eco-minded, technologically advanced, and high quality. My hair is routinely exposed to chlorine and other things that are damaging. The MAXI-wash Jamie used to detoxify my hair made it feel lighter and I noticed the difference even two weeks later. The color Jamie helped me pick is beautiful, natural, and warm(not orange warm). Jamie also helped me find a product from the Davines line that is designed to block chlorine. Jamie was careful to keep my hair length while cleaning up my ends and giving it more style. If you are looking for a clean, beautiful, friendly, professional, ""non-snooty"" salon that carries quality products and has experienced people, make an appointment. Jamie has been doing my hair for years and years! The one time I didn't go see Jamie to get my color done it was a nightmare. I will never go to anyone else ever again. She listens to what I want and she does it the best. She always has new ideas to contribute as well if I'm hesitant on what I want. When I get my hair colored and cut I walk out of her salon feeling like a million bucks! I trust her and she does a GREAT job! Don't ever stop being a hairstylist Jamie! I was lucky enough to meet Jamie 6 years ago when I triple processed my hair at home and then needed someone to ?fix? it. She gave me an incredible cut and color that not only made me look and feel beautiful, but she somehow made my hair feel healthy after I had just about ruined it. I bought/bid/won a day of beauty at a 3 Day Breast Cancer silent auction at the end of summer. I had never treated myself to a day of beauty at a spa before.....AMAZING! First, Michelle gave me the most amazing facial I'd ever had. I'm sure I looked 10 years younger, well, my face felt 10 years younger; Then, off to a massage which focused on the tension in my neck (Yay!); followed by a mani and pedi; Next was a fabulous haircut with Jamie. I was lucky enough to find this new treasure my last time in town. Used to go to Habitude, but looks like all the good folks are here now! Had the most wonderful pedicure from Natalie. Pedies are one of my most favorite things and Natalie does the best job. Nothing like being pampered to the max. Also had her do my eyebrows--at my age they are fading--and I love it !!! Then decided to go for the whole thing and had a facial. My very first one and it was amazing. Nice folks, professional friendly service and Natalie had me laughing and thoroughly enjoying my whole experience. I can't wait to do it again. Thank you!!! I have been getting my hair straightened (i.e. Japanese thermal system like Magic Straight) for the last 5 or so years. Usually I go to a salon in the International District for straightening. My regular stylist, Kenneth, moved to the Source from a salon in Greenlake and mentioned that there are several people at the Source who perform thermal straightening.
