If you need a sound system installed or remodeled and you are looking for a contractor who is professional, honest, always on time and efficient, providing quality product at reasonable price, then contact David. He will give you a detailed proposal, explain to you his plan and schedule. If you agree on everything, he will show up on time, execute the work, test everything and will come back to check anything that was not done properly. Payment is easy and very efficient if you have a credit card. David is not only my Sound System Contractor but also he will be my contractor for all other electrical services that I need. Most of all he has become my friend who I can depend on and trust. How many contractors do you know are like David :) more

Efficient company 2/24/2014

I hired Sound By Design to install an antennae for me for a cell phone computer. I thought they did a really good job analyzing the situation and reacting accordingly. They had the job done in a short period of time even though they had quite a bit to do. I will definitely consider using them again in the future. more

The one problem I had is still a problem. 2/14/2014

I had Sound By Design come to rewire my sound system. I told him what the problem was, and he acted as if he couldn't hear me. It seemed like he was more concentrated on getting out of here, and the problem wasn't actually fixed. RESPONSE FROM Sound By Design: I never knew that there was a problem. I will contact the customer and discuss this with him. more

Denied we even spoke to make an appointment 12/28/2013

I made an appointment with David a couple weeks ago. The appointment was supposed to be today at 10 am. I figured he may have forgotten (it was 10:30 am), since some time had passed since we spoke. However, I called him today, and he denied that we ever spoke, let alone made an appointment. He claimed that he wasn't making any appointments until after the first of the year. He wondered if I had mistaken him for another company, but I have his number in my phone (from the first time we spoke) and an email confirmation. My suggestion is that rather than assuming the customer is wrong, check your records first. more

Quick, fair service. 10/23/2013

Sound By Design gave us same day service. We messed up something with our TV, called them in the morning, and they said they could be at our house that afternoon. They came at the time mentioned and came up with alternatives for us. They fixed it essentially, so I can't really complain. It was the owner David and his assistant that came out. They were very professional and gave us good customer service. They do the work and the prices are fair. It didn't seem outrageous to me. They also give you a lot of options, so you're in control of what you want to do. more

Paid over $30,000 for uncompleted job!! 4/8/2013

David was paid in full, over $30,000 and still hasn't finished the job months later (says he's been out of pocket). I have had to rework every single one of his installs because they either didn't work or not completed. He installed $500 balums that failed when a $10 cable worked perfect (I'm sure just to pad the bill). Days we was working he showed up late or not at all. Some days he sat on my couch checking his match.com email while his son was miss drilling holes in my wooden shelves that can not be fixed. Later realized items including an ipad are missing from my house. He would mock customers out loud after talking to them on his cell phone. Have tried to contact him by phone and email with no response. Constantly tries to up sell "whole home automation" - but as I found out can't even complete a simple tv/sony avr/remote setup (which he picked out), and I'm now stuck with over a $1000 remote that can only be programed by a "certified profesional" - which he clearly is not. Overall horible experience. more
