THE WORST.......... EVER! My advice to anyone thinking of going to Woodys BAR BQ in Kendal, .......... is DON'T! Save your money, and go to SONNY'S! in only ONE WORD? WOODY'S in Kendal, THE WORST EVER!!! RUDE, OVER BEARING, IMPATIENT, NOT HELPFUL, PUSHY!........ DID I SAY RUDE?? The Girl from the BRONX NY seemed nice but the other witch that waited on us............ FOR GET ABOUIT IT! Food is AVERAGE at best! I see a lot of bad reviews! I did not believe! I had to see for myself! What a mistake! NEVER AGAIN! RIBS ARE COLD, DRY, and do NOT fall off the bone! food seems watered down! Pulled pork is WET! Macaroni and cheese is NOT creamy, baked beans are thin sauced! beef was dry! PLEASE do NOT GO HERE! PUKE! Worst experience I have ever had! The only reason i gave this place ONE STAR.......... is because NO STARS was not an option! on a scale from 1 to 10??????? a - 10! thats a NEGATIVE 10!................ the spanish speaking, woman manger there, made the situation far worse, when she copped an attitude when i complained about the bad food and service there!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY! GO TO SONNY'S!!!! more

Although this is not the highest quality barbecue restaurant, I like it. For what you pay you definitely get an excellent value. \r \r It is so easy to find, being just off the highway. \r \r I know for a fact that their ovens use real hardwood from Florida. I like that the flavor comes from both the sauce, spice, and wood. \r \r Given the price and the fact that this is not a seasonal restaurant, so long as you understand the price range you are in you will not be disappointed. \r \r I used to eat here monthly when I lived in the area. more

This was only ok for me. It was about as good as BBQ from a chain restaurant can be. The chicken was a little on the dry side. I enjoyed the salad bar and the sweet tea was great. Overall I would give this restaurant a B- and if I had other options would pass on Sonny's. more

These are one of the best, if not the best ribs in town. The house Bar-B-Q sauces are great and go from mild to sweet to hot. Don't forget to order the pulled pork, fried okra and the corn nuggets.\r The corn bread is like mama used to make it.\r I'm coming back for for more real soon!!! more

If you visit the website for Sonny's you might get the impression that if you go there you will be served a homestyle meal cooked to order but what I got was a lukewarm re-heated slab of ribs, one of which was actually freezer burned. This is bad food. I've had better at institutional cafeterias. In fact that is how I would classify cuisine at Sonny's, cafeteria food and mediocre cafeteria food at that. I had the sweet and smokey ribs with slaw and baked beans. The slaw was fine but its a sad condolence to the ribs. The salad bar looked well stocked and fresh and at an additional 2.95 to my entree would have been a deal if I chose it. Prices at half of what they are would be reasonable. Sonny's should either decide to improve the quality of their entrees and keep their sit down style or become the fast food restaurant they are trying to pretend they are not. more

Some may say the food is a little pricey but its so good! Every time I go here I can never decide what I want between my 3 favorite dishes. they give you so much food. I always have to eat the cheeseburger & French fry combo in for 2 meals. more

My wife and I tried to eat at your establishment on 1/10/08. The ribs for two were undercooked and even when we asked for a sharp knife, we could not cut the meat from the bone. We returned almost half the plate uneaten. Ribs should fall off the bone. These did not. We will never eat at a Sonny's again. You got the name half right. The PITTS. Maybe Sonny should try the ribs at TEXAS ROADHOUSE, where the meat just falls off the bone and you can enjoy your meal instead of fighting with it. more

Sonny's is not a high end restaurant, but boy do they have quality. Not only is there chicken, ribs and pork fantastic, but their salad bar is a great value and one of the best. For those who enjoy a hearty salad and are on atkins, you can enjoy the meats with a very good salad bar. All fixings are fresh and area is always neat and clean. Excellent casual dinning! my family travels an hour just to go to sonny's. we've never been disappointed - the corn nuggets, great salad bar, large selection of all you can eat dinners - everything has always been wonderful and the service is always friendly and good. my parents were frequenters of the original sonny's in gainesville and we have continued that tradition here in miami. we just wish one would open up closer to the airport area!! Pros: inexpensive, great food, good service Cons: so far away! more
