87% rating where can I buy what the 87% is smoking. This place is average at best. Hey next time try to put a little more steak on the bun. I will be fair I haven't tried anything but their famous steak hogi. Trust me I'm being facetious. more

Best Sandwich Ever 12/14/2010

I have eaten at Sonny's for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Who cares if they only take cash or don't serve fries! I enjoy their salad with my sandwich and love to dip the bread in their dressing. I don't get the negative reviews but we know Philly people can be tough. A family run, neighbor restaurant with great service and great food. more

i had the cheese steak and my gf had the meatball sandwich, they were both pretty good. i was disappointed that we are in 2010 and they dont take credit. i had to walk to an atm to pay for the meal. more

Sonny's Famous Steaks Hogies, but wheres the fries? 7/26/2010

I really enjoy a good meal, and this restaurant does not disappoint. The cash only thing really gets to me, kinda makes me wonder if people are paying taxes, especially after they are charging tax. More importantly I really need french fries with a hot sandwich, not chips. I hope others out there agree with me and I'm not just too opinionated. Pros: One of the best Cheese steaks I have ever had Cons: No French Fries and cash only really bother me! more

We have been going to Sonny's for years. We always order a #50 with extra sauce on the side and hot peppers on the side....you can't go wrong!! I do wish they had red wine and bottled beer instead of cans. It's not a fancy place, but the Steak Hogie is the best you will find in South Florida!! more

Worst Cheesesteak I've ever had and I've had thousands 4/17/2010

I am a Philadelphian, born and raised. For those familiar with cheesesteaks in Philly I was raised on Geno's and Dalessandros in Roxborough. I'm reticent to give cheesesteaks outside of Philly a chance, but I decided to try Sonny's out since I had hear so much about it. Can't believe everything you read or hear... 2/1/2010

I could not believe it when I got my sandwich from this place, after being on television and the reviews from others...obviously no one knows what a GOOD cheesesteak really tastes like. Now this is S. Florida and understandably you are not going to get a REAL PHILLY cheesesteak here...but there area places that come really close to it...THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! The meat was tough, the vegetables (onions, peppers, mushrooms) did not compliment the sandwich, and the tomatoe sauce they use is awful in flavor and would make pasta scared. ""Sonny's Famous...""? More like Infamously bad... Pros: price Cons: flavor, consistency, overall bad sandwiches more

Sonny's is AMAZING. Never have I tasted better cheese stakes in my life. The scauce is good ad long as it Is not on the sandwitch. Any doubts? Go for a plain hogie and get an order of garlic rolls, you can't go wrong. Sonny's is a great place, despite its divish location, to eat some great food with family, for a great price. more

Sonny's Deserves The Recognition 11/15/2009

As a South Florida native, I have been eating at Sonny's since I was a child. The restaurant opened the same year I was born and is still owned and operated by the same family that orginated it. Their food is amazing and I just cannot imagine anyone having a problem with the staff, since they have always been so friendly and welcoming. (It's funny----many of the people who complain about rudeness down here are from the NY/NJ area and I have a feeling it's their own attitudes that are causing many of their problems. My husband is from NJ and he LOVES Sonny's.) Do yourself a favor---try the steak subs, the meatball or hamburger subs, the garlic bread or their pizza. more
