Sonny's Famous Steak Hogies

I went to Sonny's for the first time ever yesterday. I was late getting home from work and I was trying to get home quick to catch the Phillies game. When I got to Sonny's I had no cash and I did not know it was cash only. Instead of making me drive to an ATM, they let me go with my cheesesteaks and told me that I could pay them back later. How cool is that!!! I have never in all my years had a restaurant be so understanding and generous!!! And of course the cheesesteaks rocked too! Pros: Best cheesesteaks outside of Philly more

This place is ridiculous. All employees except the blond haired server were snobby and just plain rude for no reason. Your sandwiches aren't even that good...In fact I wonder if they paid the foodtv network to go there to film a show. I'm from a place where steak sandwiche spots come by the handful...nj/nyc....and you know what...not one acts as if there sandwich is better than anyone else. I walked into sonnys and purposely said hello/goodbye/thankyou when I left and when I entered and looked directly at all the staff behind the counter. All the employees just looked away as if I wasnt even there. Now you may think it was just me, but I had my group of cousins do the same and they all got the same treatment. Unless your a landmarked place and your sandwich is beyond delicious you might be able to pull off the attitude but, your not....your in the middle of florida not even on a main road and you didnt have people standing outside waiting to eat. Simple and great. Steak hgie was really good and inexpensive. Service was good and quick and the place was constantly full. Enjoy! more

sonny's is alive and well and still has the best food!!! open 7 days a week and if you missed it on the food netword go to diners, drive in and dives and look for the "upper crust" episode. check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Sonnys is OPEN OPEN OPEN went there today (08/21/09) for lunch and took two pics to prove it.\r \r Again, I love local places and if I lived in the area I would be a regular.The steak hogie's are what they are know for and it's not bad. The number 50 is the way to go. The bread is made fresh and I got my hogie with the sauce ( tomato base) on the side with onions, provolone cheese, and mushrooms (see pic). I also added some hot peppers which they serve you on the side when you sit and eat. It wasn't a huge sandwich but it was good. Plus the price was right, we got three number 50s and it was about 21 and change. \r \r Remember to tell them Dan sent you for the #50 and stay hungry! more

We just ordered some hoagies for lunch at work today. They were great as always. fresh rolls, generous portions of meat. delicious! Ready in 10 minutes. Pros: Steak Hoagies are the best in town! Cons: They need to expand more

I read another reveiw and I also was born in Philly and this is the only place you will get a hogie this good in the state of Florida. I lived in Hollywood for years and this was a regular stop for me to eat. John and his staff are fantastic people and made me feel like part of a family. Eat here and you will see what I am talking about. more

I LOVE their meatball hoagies. I grew up in this neighborhood and have eaten many meatball hoagies. Never get tired of them. It stinks that I'm now in AZ and can't get one of these. The first stop I make when I go to FL is to Sonny's and the GREAT meatball hoagie. You will never get a better meatball hoagie anywhere. LOVE THEM!!!!!!!! more
