Somerset

I've lived in Somerset for about a year i have no idea what people are talking about my neighbors are not noisy and when i lost my job they worked with me so i can pay my rent.... I love my apartment i really do..i have no rats no roaches and when i moved in my appliances were still in plastic the bad reviews really don't make sense more

They are now under new management (started 8/2/2011). But I have lived here not even a month and I am having BAD problems. When iI moved in here my carpet were stained, refrigerator went out, stove burners don't work, and my front door knob just came off one day. When I called to report this to the office I was told, "That NOT having a door knob was NOT an emergancy." And had to sleep with my knob off. I had gone just about 28 hours without a door-knob. Then it has been about 2 1/2 weeks since I called about the burners and they still haven't fixed them. Then there was a leak. They have come and cut a hole on my ceiling, poked a hole in my ceiling, my walls are warped and molded. They took my mirror down and there was mold behind the INTIRE mirror! That happend going on a week ago. It is NASTY! When I called and went in to the office I was told, "To tell him myself next time I seen him" by the leasing lady Karina. Karina and Benda both were very rude and unbusiness-like. Stood up in my face and both were holling at me. This all happend 4 days ago from 8/4/2011. more

I just received a call from a collection agency AT MY JOB regarding an amount I owed Somerset Apts. They NEVER sent me any information in the mail or any other way regarding an amount owed to them. I spoke with the Asst. Mgr. Anna and she said I owed them for not shampooing the carpet after I moved. I moved out in Apr of 2011 and I still have not received any correspondence from Somerset regarding any amount I owe them. I gave them a forwarding address but have not received anything from them. I moved there in 2001 and lived there for 11 years from the date I moved in. I have lived in 3 different apts there and each one has had a pipe burst in it. The plumbing there is awful and there is absolutely NO SECURITY!!! The gates are NEVER closed and all kinds of riff raff are walking through there. I had all 4 WHEELS stolen off my car within a week of buying the car while I lived there. The neighbors are all noisy and rowdy and the office staff NEVER DOES ANYTHING about the noise. They have redone the OUTSIDE of the buildings because of City of Houston code violations, but they still need to fix the plumbing and get rid of the roaches and rats that live there too. I would NEVER GO BACK THERE even if I had no other place to stay. I would rather live in a hole in the ground than deal with them again. more

The people at Somerset Apartments are very unprofessional. When I first moved in back in October 2007 they were bragging about getting a large sum of money to help spruce the place up. Today it still looks the exact same the only reason it had any work done was because of IKE. In January 2009 I decided to move out which broke my lease for the contract, I felt really happy to get out of there because it was just a dump, a hole in the wall kind of place. When I moved out I gave them all of my information to mail me my bill but instead of getting a bill they decided to have a collection agency call me and threaten me instead. It turns out that the woman who did my paper work never processed it the month I moved out. Her name is Blanca. In May when I was contacted from the collection agency was the first time I heard anything about owing a bill. It took about three months to get the price which was being claimed of $1500 down to $400 which was still BS. I kept telling them to send me a receipt but they never would. They eventually threatened to put this on my credit which was completely uncalled for because it was the apartments fault in the first place. I did pay it off, which was still more than what I should ve owed but I wanted nothing more to do with these people. I had originally a security deposit and later a pet deposit with $150 non-refundable from $300. I am still curious where the $400 came from as well as where my deposits went to. The whole business was very unprofessional especially taking their time to get things resolved. Pros: the day i left! Cons: gated community sucked! more
