Soho is our family's favorite restaurant. We love coming here with the kids, they love Ian! My littlest one gets so excited for the ""fire"" in the hibatchi, but the most relaxing experiences we have had at Soho have been when my husband and I can get a sitter for the kids and have the VIP dinner for two!! more

The fountain was very serene and my daughter loved the fish! The sushi we ordered was impeccable and I have never tasted better fried rice. We will definitely be back for my daughters birthday soon. Thank you! more

The restaurant was beautiful, from the architecture to the decroations, I was awe struck at first glance. The service was very good, but the hibatchi chef was the best, he was so funny. The food was absolutely delicious- as always! more

Our family had a darling time at Soho for my Dad's birthday. There was an upscale vibe and the atmosphere was relaxing. Very satisfied with my experience! more

Great Dining Experience! 1/17/2012

After having eaten at Soho on numerous occasions, all of which have exceeded my expectation of a good dining experience, I can truthfully and excitedly recommend this sushi/hibachi restaurant to anyone. My first experience there, my family and I were greeted warmly by the hostess and were brought to our table immediately. Our waiter was prompt, funny, and made a noticeable effort to ensure that our dinner was satisfactory. The wait was short for our food and when it came out--WOW! I have yet to taste sushi as fresh in my 9 years living in the Cincinnati area, not to mention the portion sizes being nearly twice as big as other sushi restaurants. I ordered an entree from the Dining menu while my husband ordered a Hibachi entree. We both were blown away. The meal was juicy flavorful, and I found myself almost upset that I couldn't eat it all. It was so good! My family and I now eat regularly at Soho. Since we've been so often now the manager recognizes us and always makes sure to pay us a visit and make us feel welcome. The staff is always friendly and has always made us feel right at home. If you want to great dining experience, go to Soho! more

One of our family's favorite places 9/19/2011

For a family of 7, it's not always easy to find a place where everyone loves to eat but Soho is definitely one of those restaurants everyone looks forward to visiting. When we walk in the door, we feel like we're visiting old friends. The sushi is spectacular. The servers hustle and bustle to do their best for you. My husband and I met there for lunch on Valentine's day and one of the servers gave us a saxophone serenade at our dining table. If there's a particular server we want to see, we ask to be seated in his/her section that day. One of our favorite servers was recently promoted to a manager position there but he always checks in on us to make sure we're taken care of. If you're a frequent patron, ask about the dining card. You get money back for every certain amount that you spend. more

Best Japanese Cuisine in Cincinnati 5/2/2010

The is my new favorite spot. I've been 3 times. The food is amazing! Especially the sushi rolls. You get full just off of those. The Heaven roll is simply the best hands down. I've had the eel, shrimp and scallops. And they were all wonderful. The miso soup is awesome. (make sure it's hot!) The waiters are great. Very personable, friendly and funny. Mac is the best waiter ever, Denny is great too. The owners seem cool as well. Not uptight. Very relaxed. Have already sent 5 people to this restaurant. Would recommend to all. Pros: Excellent Food, Staff and Atmosphere! Cons: Deciding on what to eat??? more

Very Poor service 11/15/2009

Horrible management! 2/7/2009

The food is great, but I have to agree with the poor service. Management is incompetent! The hibachi food is a carbon copy of Benihana, but their service is much better. I also discovered they lose reservations - and they do absolutely nothing to fix it! Pros: Food Cons: Management & service - there is none! more

I LOVE THIS PLACE 4/19/2008

This is my 1st time posting on this site. I had to register when I saw that there was only 1 review of someone's bad experience. I went to this place one Friday early evening around 5-ish. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. We had sushi rolls which were more than enough to feed the 2 of us. They were very fresh and delicious. We were so used to getting skimpy sushi portions that we ordered double like we always do and OMG!!! We were shocked at the huge portion sizes....we shared with our table LOL. We also had the VIP for 2 meal from the hibachi menu and it was well worth it. The portions were large, flavorful, and fresh. The lobster was mouth watering and more than just a little sample. I was upset that I got full so fast and couldn't eat it all but it made an excellent snack later that night...LOL. I am usually a fan of another well known Japanese bistro and swear by them....but SOHO has now become my new favorite place. The tricks and entertainment were awesome and funny...unlike the lack of entertainment at other places I have been to. I loved the little male figurine that squirts water from you know where...LOL. He also took the time to REALLY entertain us and make our visit enjoyable. He tossed pieces of food in our mouth and was encouraging us to flip the eggs for the fried rice. The manager was at our table frequently conversing with everyone and making jokes. The waitress was excellent and came to our table frequently...we never had to ask for a refill but we were only drinking water...LOL. We normally go to the ""other place"" for our celebrations and family gatherings BUT...I am taking my daughter to SOHO with her friends for her 18th birthday celebration....instead of the ""other place"" this year. Pros: excellent food, service, ambience, personalities, and entertainment Cons: sitting with snooty strangers who weren't very sociable more

If you do have a problem - don't expect the manager to do anything 1/19/2008

One word describes my recent experience at Soho: disastrous. Like many others, I heard mix reviews of Soho. However, being a relatively skeptical person, I didn't believe any of the negative comments- that is, until I went there. I suppose first, the service: slow. It took a long time to be greeted by a server, receive drinks, and finally our meals. Now, the place was packed so I understand if the food takes time and arrives hot and delicious, however, that was not the case. First of all, our party's (8 people) food came out at three different intervals. First, 1 meal came out. 10 minutes later 2 more came out. Finally, the last 5 meals came out about 10 minutes after that. Needless to say, it was not a very pleasant dining experience. Again, I can somewhat understand this occurring, however, when the final 5 dishes arrived- ALL of which were, at best, room temperature-I decided this place had some serious issues. Let me just say, nothing is worse than eating cold food at a restaurant. Understandably, we asked to speak to the manager. He came out and we very politely explained our problems. He said ""it sounded terrible"" and would ""take care of it all for us"". He left and didn't return. When the bill arrived he had so graciously taken off 10%. Apparently, this was his idea of accommodation. He did not offer to remake the food, or get us anything different. It was clear he did not actually believe the sympathy he was conveying. He was merely trying to flip the table. I can have a bad experience at a restaurant and if it is rectified, return as a loyal customer. However, when it is clear the MANAGER does not care about the customer's overall experience, but merely maximizing profits, I refuse to return. You might be skeptical of others bad experiences, but, then again, so was I. Let me just say, it's not worth the potential for frustration. I'd just recommend finding another Japanese restaurant- perhaps one where management actually cares about the customers? Pros: bathroom was clean, lots of empty parking spaces Cons: lost our reservation, cold food, slow service, unhelpful management more
