In town for the afternoon, and my husband asked for a good place to grab lunch. The front door opens to the sports bar area, and restaurant seating is in the back where there are beautiful views of the Mississippi--bald eagles were flying all around this time of year. I loved it here and cant wait to come back.\r more

This quirky restaurant bar on the banks of the Mississippi always surprises and delights. The views of America's great river, the hometown feel of the bar and the Iowa culture infused into the overall experience, all make this restaurant worth the investment of time.\r more

Informal, rustic decor... the dining room eves are decorated with the bottom halves of ""ties"" that the staff ""clipped"" from anyone who has the audacity to enter the establishment wearing neckware. Menu is on the back of whiskey bottles. Nothing fancy served here... good steaks, but no french fries (the beans are excellent). Great place to stop for drinks and food with a gang of buddies. Roaring fireplace in the bar provides winter ""ambiance"".\r more

My sister says get the hamburger! She really enjoyed it, while I had the tenderloin. The tenderloin was fine, nice and big, but not the best I've had. I really liked the fries. Their salad bar is placed inside a claw footed tub, which limits the toppings and selections, but it adds atmosphere. We went in the middle of the afternoon, and there were very few people there. We had enough time to admire the many ties hanging from the rafters and the boats being launched into the river. The restaurant is located in a former steamboat pilot's house, a fact I learned when we visited the steamboat located in the Buffalo Bill Museum.\r more

Went recently with my wife and kids. The place has a great location on the river with a nice view. The theme with the cut ties was fun but seemed a little dated - the place is definitely casual, though. I was the only one in our group that ordered a steak. It was good\r more

We ate here with our two daughters and our daughter's boyfriend. The kids had hamburgers and enjoyed them. My spouse had a tenderloin sandwich. It was good, but surprising that it wasn't breaded and fried. I had a grilled fish sandwich that was really tasty. The atmosphere is interesting with the salad bar in a bathtub and ties hanging from the ceiling. I wish it would have said somewhere why there were all the ties. The location on the Mississippi River was really nice and scenic.\r more

We stopped into Sneaky Pete's on Sunday April 21 while checking out the many shops in Le Claire, IA. The sandwich menu is very reasonable $6-8 including a small but ample salad bar in exchange for fries, but the sandwich choices are very limited. (no chicken sandwiches at all) After the sandwich menu, they also offer quite a few steaks and some seafood, which are $15-20 average\r more

This is an old place that probably has not changed in twenty years. Steaks can be very good or very bad. Chops are better quality. Salad bar very small and limited selection. They did get a deep fryer so the menu will be changing soon. Burgers and sandwiches are average to good which are served on fresh rolls.\r more

My family and I went to see the Antique Archeology store from American Pickers and stayed for the weekend in town. The hotel clerk told us and several others the best place to eat in town was Sneaky Pete's so we went the next day. The menu is very simple - burgers, hot dogs, the basics. They don't fry anything which is nice but that means no fries with the burgers - only potato salad, macaroni salad or coleslaw.\r more

My spouse and I dined last night with friends and any everyone enjoyed their food. I can tell you the Outlaw 8 oz. Filet Mignon is a good choice for $20.00. Also members of our group had the Cowgirl 12 oz. T-bone and ½ chicken and Dude 10 oz. ground sirloin and the catfish. The salad bar was in an old' fashioned washtub, while not a lot to choose from, everything was fresh.\r more

Good service and good food, not much else to say! Oh it has a nice view of the Mississippi and has air conditioning!\r more

If you are looking for a really good steak, decent chicken or even a good hamburger you are in luck. The place is not fancy and is located in an old hotel dating to the 1830's. The ceiling has 100’s of ties that were cut off of business men that came in with their ties!\r more

Really enjoy dining in the bar in the winter, especially if you can get a table by the fireplace. Great way to warm your bones with a great steak and a good beer.\r more

An interesting place. Hundreds of ties hanging from the ceiling. By the way, don't wear a tie to Sneaky Pete's unless you fancy the tail of your tie hanging from the ceiling permanently. It's their 'thing'. We were early for dinner, but they let us order from dinners anyway. My wife's pork chops were to her liking as well. Overall, yeah we could eat there again, service was pretty good, and the view of the Mississippi was good from our table.\r more

Very rustic, don't wear a tie, you will be asked to remove it or they will cut it off....Great Food\r more
