After my boyfriend hinted that we would be going on a hot air balloon for my birthday, I decided to research the companies in the Del Mar area (since I wanted to do a sunset ride). After calling and browsing many companies websites, I decided on SkySurfer. Connie the owner is so nice and helpful, and also gave us a great rate (which helped us be able to tip the crew later). She emailed me a confirmation with all the info, and gave good directions, etc. The flight ended up being amazing. The crew is chill, and Pete our captain (or whatever you call the main guy) was great. He was very experienced, and crushed any fear I had about the flight and heights. He also was able to give us the background history on hot air balloons, the company, etc etc, and point out some key places that we were passing over down below. We got more air time than expected, and we were served as much champagne as we wished in the air and when we landed. Oh, and they flew a birthday banner for me :). Overall a great, great time, and a fun way to spend a birthday. I would definitely recommend using this company!
