Excellent 8/8/2011

I was in the market for a new pair of glasses. My first stop was Lens Crafters because they were the ones that i received a coupon for in the mail. When i walked into the store there was no one there to help me. After looking around for a bit i decided there was nothing in the store that i wanted. Then I went to Eye Definition in the mall. They were no help either. Just when i was about to give up I spotted Site For Sore Eyes! Now let me tell you about this place. I was greeted as soon as i walked in. A short bald headed guy approached me right away. He told me about there special and guided me to some designer frames. They had D & G, Fendi, and other designer frames. He also told me that I get a second pair free. The store is very neat, clean, and very well organized. The customer service was excellent and I definitely recommend this place to anyone. I usually don't go out of my way for stores but it was a pleasant experience compared to other places i have visited in the past. more

Good deal 8/4/2011

I'm surprised at all the 1 star reviews! I've bought a total of 3 or 4 pairs of glasses from here and had a good experience each time. More recently, I just bought 2 pairs of new frames I was in dire need of. Right now, they have a """"sale"""" or promotion going on. Whatever you wanna call it. You get the first pair for $100 off, and the 2nd pair free. The first pair cost me $399 minus $100 plus the lenses. Basically, I paid around $500 for 2 pairs of glasses. Yeah they're expensive, but how often do you buy frames anyway. My last pair lasted me about 3 years I think. more

Very fair deal 7/29/2011

I really have to take issue with the woman who raked this place over the coals. I have been going there for years and found this one of the friendliest and most affordable places around. I'm sorry if you think 100-300 for just the frames is a lot then you really haven't looked around much for custom glasses. That is on the inexpensive side. They don't have a huge selection of high end stuff but they go out of their way to help you find something that works and they kept reminding me that they won't be insulted at all if they didn't have what I wanted. My eye exam with a very good eye guy was only $49 and that was applied to my purchase. I got a new pair of high end frames and the best progressive lens plus they redid the progressive lens for my sunglasses and with the full exam it came to $525. For the quality I got I thought it a very fair deal. Ray is the owner and from my personal experience he is a really nice guy and there to help. Yes they are in business and do want you to buy stuff, but even though they are not the closest I keep going back. So I recommend. more

Very patient 7/27/2011

I've been going here for years--the staff here are very welcoming and helpful. They take their time with you and never push you to buy anything you don't need. At one point, I was going through 4-5 different brands of contacts b/c of my irritated, dry eyes and they were all very patience with me. I always forget to re-order my contacts until the very last minute so they always give me free samples until my new order arrives. more

Prices were good 7/27/2011

I lost my glasses and needed to get new ones. I walked in and saw the doctor and picked out my frames and was out of there in less than an hour. They had a special, buy one and get the second pair for free plus the fee for my eye exam was substracted from my bill. I returned two hours later and my glasses were ready. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The girl who helped me even filled out my insurance paperwork and mailed the form for me. I'm happy and I felt the prices were good. more

RIP OFF 1/28/2010

Everything I am saying is the absolute truth. If this company has a problem, please contact me. I called asking if they have acuve oasis avaiable. They said YES we have it. I went in for eye check up. I thought it would fast, convenient and easy. Paid the $89 for the eye exam including contacts. The doctor kept offering me another brand. I have been wearing contacts for over 10 years, Acuvue Oasis for more than 6 yrs. I did not want another brand. This made me wonder. Finally I said, do you have Acuvue Oasis. They said, NO they do not have it in stock I would have to wait a week so they could Ok fine, lie #1. Small lie but whatever. The doctor offered me another trial and said we'll wait til my Oasis comes in. SO, these trials SUCK. they hurt. I called and he said, just wait a while because it takes a while to get use to it. NO, my eyes hurt and my vision is blurry. I want a different trial. I meet with another doctor at the same location. The doctor gives me a new trial and guess what? A completely different prescription. I told her what my prescription was and she checked the previous doctors notes and said the other doctor was OFF. SO... i use the new trials. THese hurt even MORE. I go back and meet my original doctor. He not only gives me another trial in the first prescription that he suggested and says the prescription the female doctor gave me was in accurate. WTF? Who is right then? OK. So, the counter lady who ordered my contacts told me it'll take a week to get the Acuve Oasis and they'll call me as soon as it comes in. One week later, no call. I called, and she said she couldnt find a note saying that it was ordered. SO, she'll order it. EVEN THO SHE ORDERED IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! SO.. she says one more week. I give her a little more than a week and no CALL. I went in and asked her myself. She said, oh they havent had any deliveries and it takes a while because they're trials. I said, WAIT? So.. you're ordering me trials and then I'm gonna have to wait again to get the actual contacts? SHe said sorry and yes. So, another 2 weeks have passed. ANd finally I get a call saying thye have my contacts. YES finally, i got my trials. They're telling me that I have to wear my trials for a week before they can order the final pairs for me. I'm wearing them and then I get another call from the owner saying OH sorry but we have your trials here. I think?? Wait a minute.. what the hell have I been wearing? So i went to pick those trials up and they're a different prescription. The owner had no idea that i had two prescriptions. and they werent sure which was correct. GREAT right? So.. i take the other trials. SO.. now it's been about 2 months now for me to get my TRIAL pairs.. and they're comletely wrong. I went back to get my final fitting, and it's past the week, now they're telling me I have to $35 to have my contacts RE-FITTED. After ALL the shit they put me through they're telling me I have to pay $35 on top of the $89 that I paid. They said that after the week trial, I HAD to come back to get the final fitting. If I didn't I would have to pay $35. There is nothing on their site that says that. SO.. now I am DONE with Site for Sore eyes or STERLING OPTICAL. I took my glasses prescription and will start my quest to close this place down. I can not believe how bad this place is. The worst part of all of this is that the OWNER was sitting right there, not jumping in to help his associate.. I did not raise my voice, i did not start a scene. I just requested a copy of my prescription and left. The owner did not offer to help or fix the situation, NOTHING. Cons: all of it. LIES LIES LIES more

Great customer service 2/25/2008

I've been wearing glasses for 20 years, and this is the first time that I order a new pair of glasses in S.F.S.E. Great experience! The staffs there are nice and they offer many choices and suggestions to me. The doctor is knowledgeable. The price is also affordable especially the eye exam is much cheaper than other practices that i've visited. Total I spent $425 for a Versace frame and SV polycarbonate lenses, and an extra free glasses for backup. more

Very Poor Customer Service, It's Sad!!!!! 10/3/2006

I went to this location because I thought I would receive good service. I purchased numerous glasses at this store in the past, I did not foresee any issues until my last visit. I needed an update of my eye exam and to get glasses and contacts. I anticipated the same courteous service as before. Cons: Poor customer service and bad staff more
