We will come back! 4/4/2011

We first visited when the restaurant opened and the experience was not good. Friends of our convinced us to try it again which we did on 03/31/2011. The service lacked a lot for a restaurant of this caliber. I had to ask for my iced tea to be refilled each time it was empty. Waiter was hardly around during the meal. The scallops appetizer was great and unusual. The tomato mozzarella lacked taste and the tomatoes were not sweet. I get sweet ones from HEB with no problems. The surf and turf was nothing to brag about as the pork chop was chewy and lobster was over cooked. You could not get bananas foster as they had no bananas! Only 2 creme brulee left. Hard to believe they got such a good rating from Austin area restaurants but then we are not food critics that have announced we are coming. We will not go back as it has been two very poor experiences for us. Do not go on a Thursday. Sad for Georgetown. JC more

Not Happy. 12/10/2010

Told they were booked and to reserve for 8:30. When we got there, half the place was empty. Given wine list, but not offered any other drinks. Placed order at 8:35. 8:55 asked for mixed drink menu. Bar tender made substitution without asking us first. 9:15 waitress apologized for delay. We were not offered anything. Not even bread. Watching our waitress walk around. 9:22 I asked for bread. Appetizers finally arrived. Bread came 5 minutes later. Froie Gras was unimpressive. Entrees came. I asked for well done and received medium rare. Sent it back and 2 minutes later, received it microwaved and dry. Red potatoes were not fully cooked. Woody piece of Thyme nearly skewered my lip it was so hard Will not recommend. more

Big City Taste Small Town Charm 5/17/2010

I really loved this place the food was fresh and felt relaxed on the plate not like it was holding its breath taking itself too seriously. The plating was very nice but not all stuffy. The flavor was sparky and surprising.I loved the seafood fritters though I think they were really more of a hush puppy but in an age when Chefs can claim to confi a tomato who am I to argue. My moms Oscar was missing asparagus but maybe that is just how they do it. I will say as the table reviewer I was able to sample all the dishes and was not disappointed in anything. The Shrimp crepes were creamy and delightful. The salads crisp and fresh as if they had been harvested from a window box outside the kitchen. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were obviously NOT bought in bulk special like some other restaurant whose name i will not mention but should be ashamed of themselves for ruining an important night for me..but I ramble. These steaks where tender delicious and perfectly seasoned to allow that natural flavor come through yuuuuummmmmmmmm!! CANT WAIT TO COME BACK! Pros: friendly service, locally owned, cool location more

Can Not Wait To Go Back! 2/13/2010

Though it really is not fair to judge a place on a special event limited menu I was so thrilled by this place that I to write. Valentines was such a lovely experience that we can not wait to rush back for the full service. Matt! Matt! the service you gave was top notch! The wine you selected was perfect. The food. Explosion of flavour! The ceviche was crisp and refreshing the the Lamb Remould was amazing the only drawback being a lack of blue cheese in several of the rolls. but the zip and tang were fantastic. The Mixed Berry WIld Rice Salad had no rice in it But the berries were sweet and yummy and The duck was cooked perfectly ,The small snafus can not take away from the truly delicious flavor of the meal and the fabulous service. Pros: Locally owned, fresh, real food, service more

One of a kind in Georgetown 11/12/2009

I really like this place. It is probably one of the nicest places in Georgetown, aiming for a niche that historically has to fight to stay alive. I don't think they will have any trouble though. I went here for a few drinks and appetizers with a friend of mine who is a regular, and we both had an enjoyable time. The staff was friendly, welcoming us as the first patrons of the evening. The drinks were well made, and the food was creative and delicious. I look forward to having an entire meal here, and returning for many happy hours in the future. Pros: Great menu, friendly staff Cons: Can be hard to find (but worth the search!) more

Excellent View and Great Food 6/23/2009

I found Siver and Stone while driving through downtown Georgetown. Boy am I glad I did! My wife and I went to the top of the building and enjoyed the best view of the N.Austin in the area. Six stories up and a wrap around porch. I plan on going back and watching the fireworks after the Friday Express games. We both shared the mushroom appetizers and each had a glass of wine. They were fantastic! The mood was causual but not too casual. They also had a band that was playing on the patio to help ease you into the weekend. I do plan on going back for brunch on Sunday. If the brunch menue was as tasty as the happy hour bar menue, I will not be disappointed. I strongly suggest goiing. I give it a 5 star rating and I will return! Pros: food, happy hour, view more
