Shells Pasta & Seafood

We had a FANTASTIC meal and Shell's during our recent visit to Port A. Our waitress was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the food and the wines and she was very funny and bubbly. SHELL'S IS A MUST FOR ANY VISIT TO PORT ARANSAS! Be warned, it is a small place....only 7 tables inside and about 3 or 4 outside. They do not take reservations, so it is first come first serve. We went got there at 6:00 on a Friday night and waited about 15 minutes for a table. Pros: Great fresh seafood, great service Cons: small place, so get there early more

Shells was within walking distance of our hotel. We went for dinner on a Sunday night. We ordered Crab Cakes and Grilled Wahoo. I will say that the seafood entrees were fresh, flavorful and very delicious...no complaints there. The problem is that our entrees were served with plain dry white rice (not seasoned with anything at all) and a small portion of bland steamed veggies. We left feeling like we had not had a complete meal. We were not served any salad or even bread prior to the meal. The total was right at $60 for the 2 of us. Shells could greatly improve if they were to serve up some tasty side dishes to go along with their entrees. When your this close to the coast, most all restaurants are going to serve up fresh & flavorful seafood. We would not recommend Shells, you can find comparable seafood at most any other place in Port Aransas! Pros: Good entrees Cons: Bad everything else more

visited 01/21/06, 7pm. Small establishment, seated at a 5 person table but was advised that we woudl have to move if a larger party came in, but where? no other avail. tables. Waitress unfriendly, portions small for the money, overpriced, blan tasting. Should slack off on the ADJETIVES (describing the dishes) and add some flavor to them. Asked for some french bread and got a pesto & cheese slathered piece of bread that was ""salty"" and unedible. The ""snow-birds"" are getting robbed. And so did this non-snowbird visitor. Go to HOOKS! Cons: over priced, unfriendly, no taste food more
