Shelby Lynns Cake Shoppe

I absolutely love this place! I have been getting my childrens cakes here for years and they have always been EXCELLENT! Jennifer and Janet are amazing! The cakes always come out better than I imagined! My cakes are always on time, fresh, and look amazing. I highly recommed this place to anyone! Everyone is always very friendly and has a great attitude! It really is a quality place for getting your cakes!! more

I have nothing good to say about Shelby Lynn's. To start with they called us at 9am the day of our wedding, also the time my groom's cake was suppose to be ready for pickup, to let us know they had lost the photo my cake was suppose to be made from. After re-sending the photo I called them back to make sure they had received it and to see if they could deliver the cake to our venue two miles down the road from their shop because they had lost the photo and my cake wouldnt be ready till noon. They had received the photo but refused to deliver the cake. Hope this would be the last issue we had with them but it wasn't. Upon cutting into the cake at our reception later that day we found out they it wasnt made correctly either. It was suppose to be filled with chocolate ganache. We are still unsure of what the actual filling was. Some of it was creamy and white and they other was dry and light brown, almost like brown sugar. Needless to say the cake tasted horrible and we had to throw it away. We could not have our guests eating it. Also the design was not oriented correctly. After we returned from our honeymoon a week later we called Shely Lynn's to try to resolve the matter. Jennifer, the owner, wasnt available and we left a message for her to return our call. A couple days later and a few more phone calls I finally got to talk to her personally. Jennifer pretty much called me a liar, that she had made the chocolate ganache and filled the cake herself that morning. She also wanted us to bring in a slice of the cake so she could verify what I was telling her. Who saves something like this to take back to the shop where you bought it? She refused to believe what I was telling her. I asked her for a refund and she wouldn't give me one. So in the end Jennifer and Shelby Lynn's refused to stand behind their product. She would only offer me an in store credit because they have a ""no refund"" policy!! So much for customer service. I called to set up an appointment to get a cake designed. I couldn't believe how poorly I was treated. It may have been the rudest anyone has ever been to me on the phone. I choose to look for another bakery than deal with them. Cons: Really? more

Let them eat cake!! Only from Shelby Lynn's in Springdale!! OMG I love this place! Unbelievable cakes. This lady was on the Food Network 2 times. I saw her shows and went in to the store and was absolutely blown away by what i saw. The website does not do it justice. I ordered a present styled cake (pink and green). Great price. I went back a week later and the cake was delicious. I highly recommend her to everyone I know!! Love this place! more

I was recently torn between 2 local cake shops, both highly recommended by friends. I ultimately chose Shelby Lynn's Cake Shop in Springdale. The service and the product was out of this world, exactly what I asked for , and beyond! The cake was so beautiful and soo yummy! (choc. cake with strawberry filling). They're displays are amazing. Make sure you go in with a general idea of what you are looking for, all the pictures and displays will make your mind wander. Again , EXCELLENT SERVICE AND CAKE!!! Pros: great cakes! Horrible service, rude people. My nephews 1st birthday we got his cake here. We asked for a under the sea cake with little fish on it some seaweed and what not. We wanted a sugar spun nemo on top. When we got the cake there was no tiny fish and the nemo was fondant not sugar spun. We paid 80 dollars for this cake. By the time I got it home (driving 10 under the speed limit and barley stopping) the cakes top tier was sinking. Nemo was to heavy for the cake. It came as one cake most tiered cakes come in seperate peices. I got the cake out of the car and into the house. I left it for a minute or two when I came back the frosting was falling off the top tier and nemo was sliding off. We took nemo off because he was by far to heavy. They only used one wooden dowel, so there was no support. We called to tell them what had happened, they told us to bring it in and they would fix it. But we had to have it there within 15 min. It is a good 30 min drive from the house. We told them No we will get it there before they close. We got there and the lady blamed it on my driving. It was the huge nemo on top. We got our money back and went to walmart to get the cake. Not worth the time to get your cake with them they are unprofessional and rude. They dont know what they are doing. If you want a cake from a bakery (not walmart) go to Ricks. He is the same price and quality service. Pros: Located center of springdale Cons: service, parking, lack of professionalism. more
