The sushi here is really good. From specialty rolls to your traditional rolls, the sushi is spectacular. It is always fresh and delicious, no matter when you go!! I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. more

For Eau Claire, there is nothing better. Compared across the country, this still ranks up as some of the best Asian cuisine I have had (even compared to Philly and DC areas). Eau Claire has a hidden jewel with this quality of sushi and Asian cuisine. Tom G. nailed the pricing structure - a bit pricey but still in line with any other fine dinning and oh so worth it. Their portions are enormous (be careful ordering their scrumptious Green Tea ice cream - you won't be able to eat it all) as there will definately be enough to take home for the next day. The live jazz band is a nice touch on Fridays and Saturdays - whoda thunk sushi and jazz???? Mega Kudos to the fabulous sushi chefs, and to the forsight and courage of the owners to "give it a go". I can't reccomend this place enough. For anyone looking for excellent food, great Asian specialties, or to cure that Sushi hankering - this is definately the place. more

I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical a few years ago when this restaurant changed owners (from parents to son) and identities (from the traditional Yen King to the newer, hipper Shanghai Bistro). However, I also have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. You can still get Chinese favorites (ask if they'll make the sizzling rice soup) as well as edgier fare, most notably sushi. While pricier than the regular entrées, the sushi and sashimi platters are still reasonably priced -- not to mention fresh, well-prepared and delicious. Shanghai has been a very welcome addition to the localrestaurant scene. more
