Service 1 Plumbing, Heat & A/C

Our AC went out on Saturday 93 degree night and Sunday we called Service 1. Dave came out within an hour and we had a brand new condenser unit installed that day by Vance. They were very informative & efficient. Would definitely recommend them! They went above and beyond to get our AC up and running as fast as possible! more

We had Jim come out to our home to give us an estimate for a mini split air conditioning system (euro style, wall units). He was very knowledge about the system and gave a fair estimate compared to local competitors. Not many HVAC companies know how to install these types of systems which suited our needs--we live in a rehabbed 1920's bungalow. Having plaster walls and minimal space for duct work--this was the best solution for air conditioning! Within a week Adam came to install the units and did a fantastic job! Cleaned up after himself, was very friendly and worked tirelessly until the job was done, and done right! We couldn't be happier with overall experience-- great customer service, responsiveness & plentiful knowledge of the mini-split systems. Erich from Service 1 was out just before the beginning of the promised window of time and immediately got to work. We wanted to have the furnace checked as it was old and starting to get noisy. The news Erich gave us was bad but not at all surprising...new furnace time. He did an amazing job of explaining the options and helped set us up with financing and a great price on a new better unit than the builders used 13 yrs ago. He arranged for Adam and Zack to be out just a couple of hours later with the new furnace and a much needed built in humidifier. Adam and Zack arrived got right to work and two hours later were done and explained everything we needed to know about our new thermostat, furnace and humidifier control. These guys are fantastic!!! The AC unit is likely our next need. No doubt here on who we will be calling. Great great service!!! more

James was able to discuss the different options available to me with the thoroughness that only comes from understanding the products he sells and how they perform in certain houses and conditions. He did not push, but told me what I could expect from the different systems. Every one of which was the lowest price of all 5 estimates I received. The install team was extremely professional and polite and cleaned up the area so it looked better than when they started the project. They even put drop cloths all the way through the house so they were not tracking in any dirt. The high efficiency system we had installed had a slight learning curve to it, but they were happy to answer or return my calls promptly and tell me how to adjust it to meet our needs. I will definitely be utilizing them for all my HVAC needs in the future. more

I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received from Service 1 in Plainfield. The salesman, James, clearly explained the various options for an entire system and helped me choose options that best fit my needs. The installers - Ken, Vance, Adam, Aaron, and Zack were all professional, courteous, and clean. I had never, until that point, had an installer in my home that put down drop cloths the entire way from the door to the area of work - and Service 1 did just that. I literally had zero cleanup after they left. They were fast; the work was very well done and neat. And the real mark of a good company: there was one minor hiccup in the work - an issue they addressed immediately and painlessly - with zero pushback. I will also mention that their pricing was the best of the bids I received - by far. Trust me - these guys should be on your short list of people to consider. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody seeking HVAC. more

Erich has been looking after our ac for about a year now, and the time has come where we needed a new one. The installers, Vance and Aaron, came on time, same day as we were told we needed a new one, and were true to their word, 21/2 hours later and we are cooling off!! I can't say enough good things about this company and their technicians! All are courteous and friendly, they explain everything really well! We couldn't be more pleased with them! Great service and excellent staff. Darren and Zack came to install our AC Unit and new furnace on a Sunday. They were on time and courteous. After they completed the job, you couldn't even tell we had work done because they did such a good job and cleaned up after themselves. Great company. Would recommend them to anyone. Highly recommended. I got a quote from the big name company in the Chicago area and then called Service 1. Their price was way cheaper for better equipment. The big name guy couldn't match it, even though they advertise price matching. Within a couple hours of calling Service 1, they were bringing the new furnace into the house. Vance and Shawn did a great job putting the furnace in on St. Paddy's day. Vance and Zack came out yesterday to finish the job by putting the new A/C in. I'm very satisfied. These guys go the extra mile. more

My wife and I recently had our Air Conditioning go out on one of the hottest days of the year and knew it was time to buy a new a/c unit. Knowing that 90+ degree days are NOT the best times to buy when you're looking for the best price and service, we took the plunge and were very pleasantly surprised with our deal! We spoke to 5 companies and received quotes for a new A/C unit, Furnace, Humidifier and air cleaners. Service One of Shorewood exceeded expectations from the start. Gordon Raw, the owner, came to our home and spoke to us in terms that we could understand. He took the time to look at our current equipment and together, we came up with a ""game plan"" and a price that was better than the other four companies...by far. Once you agree on price, then you just keep your fingers crossed that the crew you get is qualified...When the crew showed up and started, we knew that we were in great hands! 3 professional and incredibly competent gentlemen showed up and did the install. They under promised and over delivered as far as my wife and I are concerned. Jimmy, Darrin and Mike completed the installation and tested everything in front of us. They even stayed once they were done and explained the new system slowly and concisely...they were not in a hurry even though they worked hard all day in the heat.
