Sell's is awesome!! My son takes classes there Monday-Friday and can't get enough of being there. He loves the teachers as well as the other students. They teach all styles of dance as well as Broadway Musical Theatre classes, which he loves because he also sings and dances. If your child wants to dance, sing, etc. this is the place to go! more

very unorganized and extremely poor communication and the classes are overcrowded. My daughter went for a little over a month and no one ever spoke to me about recitals, costumes, or any other important information that I needed to know as a parent. I had to find out through other parents. When I asked the teacher she told me to give my email and information to the 15 yr old girl running the front desk so she could add me to some sort of message board. Did she ever do it? NO!!! more

Love Sells! 9/2/2009

You will be pleased. Have your child try a class or two and they will want more. Yes this is a business, but it feels more like a family. Pros: Wonderful Teachers/great group of students Cons: sometimes classes run a bit over schedule more

Let your child try Sells....they will LOVE it, we wish we had found them years ago. 10/22/2008

My daughter joined Sells Broadway about 2 years ago. She LOVES it. Not only is she excited to go to practices (moms love that) the recitals and dances they learn are pretty amazing. My daughters confidence level has gone through the roof and dance has become her passion. Thank you Shanna, Chris, Heather, Kim and Mr Mike Pros: Watching my child glow with confidence more

The Boys and Girls Rocked 5/26/2008

The kids from Sell's had an Awesome Regional Competition Season. Pros: Great Job of Teaching Dance Skills Cons: Communications - But we see it getting better everyday more

Ridiculous 5/21/2008

Whoever footballpro is or whatever should remember that because of the economy, people are going to give up extras that take money. For example, DANCE. That would be the main reason for a decline in enrollment. If people do leave due to negative things involving the studio, that would only be an extremely small percentage. Sell's is surely one of the most professional studios in town. The teachers all care about their students, and that means all of their students. If they did not, why would not take the time and money to ensure an amazing recital. For all those people who complain, go and watch another studio's recital and compare the quality. Sell's is by far more professional. Pros: Everything, experienced teachers, amazing recitals, great atmosphere. Cons: NOTHING! more

Sell's Broadway Dance= great place to dance!! 1/1/2008

I'm a student there and I think Sell's Broadway Dance is a great place. They are currently taking some more dance classes to competitions in February 2008. The instructors have so much professional background and regularly teach dances from Broadway Musicals. Although they teach well, sometimes they lack communication. They also have many classes to take and they're adding on more and more. Sell's is great! Pros: Great Recitals, Interesting Choreography Cons: Lack of communication more

We love Sells, more importantly...my daughter loves it!! 8/18/2007

My daughter started at Sells about a year ago. We are extremely impressed. Not only does she look forward to going 2 nights a week but her confidence has went Way up and the recital was amazing. I am so surprised at the negative comments a few Mom made. My daughter and I are thrilled that children from the studio went on to NYC to compete....That alone speaks volumes about the teachers at this school...and they WON FIRST PLACE!!! Amazing, way to go girls! You are an inspiration to my daughter. Chris and Shanna, I have never seen two people give so much to your students. We had many family members and friends attend the recital and everyone was blown away. Keep up the great job! Pros: First dance school that my daughter LOVES attending, she took two classes last year, wants to take 4 this year, that speaks volumes to us as parents more

perfect example 7/18/2007

there is one thing that all these posters are saying and that is that they are only focusing on the students who are going to competition and that is simply not true i was in fact asked to go to competition with them but decided not to go for i was too busy but just because i didn't go didn't mean that chris and shanna didn't pay attention to me anymore they are the best teachers i have ever had and are definitely my favorites. also it is not chris and shannas falt that the air conditioning is broken its the buildings and if any of you moms knew anything about dancing you would know that no air conditioning helps the muscles warm up and if you can't take the heat than maybe you should just go outside. These petty little problems that you all talk about happen at every studio so no matter where you go your going to bump into them so you might as well go to a studio who is going to train your precious little child how to dance and in the past we have even had other studios in the county steal our choreography so what does that say to you about their studio. Chris and Shanna are high quality teachers so they deserve to have high quality students that are dedicated to them. I will always go to sells because i love the environment of the students and teachers and if parents want to complain then they should just go to another studio and bring their wining childish selves to another studio and bother them with your petty problems. Pros: High Quality Teachers who want to have fun and dance along with you while teaching. Cons: They have no cons more

The Place I grew the most!! 7/5/2007

I have been at Sell's for a mere 2 years. with some leave, going other places. But let me say this to people who are using this site as a review to look at the studio and to those who are bad mouthing? the what they think is a horrible studio. Take it from a person who has been there and other places. As an adult I can say i have learned a lot of things through these two wonderfull teachers as well as heather. I have gone to studios in pasco pinellas and Sarasota, not to say the studios weren?t decent but, sell's is the most professional. I have been to many professional auditions now in my dancing career and would like to say they get you ready for it. They are the ones who got my training to a high point in which i was able to be accepted into the boston ballet for the summer of 2007, not to mention that they got me ready for the college experience in which i got a fully paid scholarship for dance and are preparing me for the real world of dance entertainment. So for those who think that this studio isnt a ""good""studio, let me tell you that with out the support and love that these teachers have given me. i would not be the dancer i am today. I would not be starting my career. I would be stuck in pasco for the rest of my life but they have sent me to these auditions and pushed me in class. With out these two essentials I wouldnt be going anywhere with my career. I love where i started. i am proud to call it my home. So for all those who say it is chaotic and horrible let me say this. If you have such complaints as i have read then you try and get to broadway, make a career out of it, come back to pasco open a studio, raise to kids and still make a success of your dancers and tell me how far you get! The best dancers in pasco, pinellas and this general area are coming from this studio trust me becuz i have seen. Chris and Shanna you are training amazing kids through your teaching and words of wisdom! Pros: Amazing, best teachers in pasco, great kids Cons: NO cons more

Wonderful Dance Studio!! 6/16/2007

I must say that I am appauled by the childish comments posted on this site. This is NOT a chat room, nor is it a place for gossip. My daughter has been attending classes at Sell's for 5 years now. She LOVES it and so do we. Chris, Shanna, and Heather offer professional instruction in a kid friendly way. I actually came to the site to comment on another terrific recital and I was dumbfounded to find the negativity and pettiness here. No, my child is not in one of the numbers. She is not a ""favorite"" but that is because I don't feel that there are favorites. I cannot believe that grown adults are writing things about innocent children. As I stated before, we are not part of the New York group. But, I am very excited for them. I happen to have a class with some of the girls who are going. The moms', in my opinion, have been very conscientious. I don't feel that I have heard a lot about fundraising. And if I did, who cares?? It is just like them raising money for football and soccer. I am happy to support them with their trip. My daughter is proud to say that the studio she goes to has a group going to New York. To all of the people going to that competition, good luck! We'll be thinking of you. Pros: Excellent instruction, great recitals Cons: Lacks organization, communication needs work more

They are just little girls 6/15/2007

I would like to please remind everyone to remember that these are just little girls we are talking about when you speak of these little rockettes. These comments are very disheartening coming from women who are obviously mothers too. Let's face it ladies, Little Miss Megan is in a lot of different classes and all of those classes were not chosen. Actually, Chris and Shanna honestly just tried the competition thing to see what would happen. It really was a last minute decision. When they placed and were invited to other competitions it just sort of was carried on. Truthfully, Shanna wasnt even sure if she wanted to go to New York or not, the push was not from the studio at all. She let the parents decide, especially because of the financial commitment involved. You are all acting scary when you speak about these innocent little girls. They truthfully do not even realize what is going on and are just having fun. Please remember this... And that was a very mean comment posted about the way the Rockettes performed in the recital, I'm not sure how many know this but they just found out the night before the performance they were in the recital and had not practiced in a long time. I just hope you remember that these little girls are just dancing to enjoy life and where ever it may take them. Pros: Great Instructors! more

Great show!!! 6/15/2007

Another year come and gone!!! These recitals are just getting better with every year. This was my daughters 6th recital at this studio and I can't imagine her dancing anywhere else but for the Sells in there shows. ALL the dancers did a wonderful job this year and should all be proud of themselves. Speaking for myself I would like to say thank you to Chris, Shanna, and Heather for teaching my daughter to dance. I am amazed every year how well she is progressing. There is a passion in these teachers that they pass on to our kids and for that they deserve many Thanks. I wish the competition dancers the best of luck in NYC!!! My daughter will not be there but they will all be in our thoughts. I would like to add that although there is alot of chaos around recital time it all becomes worth it when the children come out to do there last bow of the night and every single one of the dancers has a smile from ear to ear. For me that is all I need to know my daughter is where she should be.....Sells Broadway Dance Company. more

Concerns with this studio 6/13/2007

There are major issues with this studio, including that the owners have, for the past year, focused on a very small group of students, including only those in their daughter's class. This is because they wanted their daughter to get competition experience, so they only selected her class plus one group of older girls who had been at the studio for many years. They did not open this experience up the every dancer at the studio by holding open auditions for everyone to have a chance. Everyone else received limited attention and left many 10-13 yr old girls feeling they were not good enough, or were not liked by the owners. Be a smart consumer and do some research before you go to this studio. or any other studio. You will find that the well run studios allow everyone a chance to audition for competition teams; they are not hand picked by the owners. Also, ask to see the recital programs for 06 and 07, then count the actual number of students. You will see that this studio numbers are down by at least 75 to 100 students this year because many, many have left for very valid reasons. This should raise a red flag to you. Ask if these owners, who are the teachers, are certified to teach. They are not. This means they are not experienced in how to teach, how to encourage and motivate young children. They do not know how to build self esteem through the dance experience. Ask around town. When someone tells you how great the studio is, ask them if their child went to competition. If they did, then they are in that small, select group and so of course they think it's great. This small group received hours upon hours of additional training, while most others at the studio were ignored. Then there is their most recent advertisement in a local publication where they are advertising that boys dance for free at this studio. Isn't that discrimination against girls? Also, many previously posted negative reviews posted here have been deleted, probably because the owners complained. Pros: Do your research for your child's sake! Cons: Not a positive place for self esteem of children, customers not valued more

Great Instructors! Great Recitals! 6/12/2007

My daughter has been dancing at this studio since she was 3 years old. She has never wanted to skip a dance class or dread going. She absolutely loves them. She is a very outgoing child and a true leader. I firmly believe that The Sell's have instilled these qualities in her. Yes, it is true that sometimes the air is broken or that the communication sometimes has room for improvement., but I would NEVER change studios. We love it here. This is my daughter's 5th recital and she is so excited about it! This studio has the absolute best recital performances you will ever see. Our family is amazed each and every year. I have read on some of the postings on this site about the competing teams and the jealousy they are feeling. This is really unfair to those girls performing and winning to go on to the next competition. Your child's dance group may be the ones going next year to competition. They had to pick a few numbers and couldn't possibly pick everyone. Just felt compelled to post my view on this studio. I very strongly encourage you to try this studio first and you will never want your child to go dance anywhere else. Pros: great instructors! great performances! more

Sell's Broadway Dance....gone WAY down hill! 6/12/2007

Everthing the poster below me wrote, I completely agree with. Our family was also with Sell's up until this year (finishing the recital this week, then that is it!), and we will not be going back for more insanity. We too have dealt with the unorganized chaos of this studio, the broken down air conditioning, the 20-30 students in one small dance room, and the lack of communication from the owners. Their focus IS now on their competition numbers, and not on their existing students. If I have to hear the same mom's talking about NYC and their fundraising to get there, I think I will scream! If they want a dance team that is fine, but they should give EVERY student the opportunity to audition, and not just pick and choose who they want without giving everyone a chance. How fair is that? Also, so many of the mom's at this studio are so catty, we just cannot deal with that anymore either. I know that our family and many more that have not made their feelings known yet have said they will be finding a new studio next year. From what I hear there are TWO new studios opening right on SR54 thank goodness, so we will all finally have choices here in Trinity on where to dance!!! Cons: A lot!!!! more

Sell's 6/2/2007

Another family here that will not be returning next year. Tired of the chaos and the lack of communication. more

Amazing Dance Studio 5/22/2007

Sell's has been another home for me for the last 4 1/2 years I've been dancing there. They are very professional and when it comes to safety of their students that is ALWAYS first priority. Their recitals are amazing every year and are always very impressive. The choreography is very original, and Chris and Shanna are very nice and approachable. Contrary to what many people say the studio is not all about just certain groups of students. Chris and Shanna care greatly about all of their students and each class and dance. The studio is large and the classes are always exciting. I would never think of going anywhere else, and if your thinking about trying out the studio I would definitly recomend it. Pros: Everything is great more

My Love, My Life, My Home 5/18/2007

Sell's Broadway Dance Company is a great dance studio to attend. I was 8 years old when i was supposed to go to my first dance class. I told my mom i was sick and i couldnt go, when really i was just afraid. I was afraid to meet the teachers, afriad i wouldnt make friends, and i was afriad to dance. But the day i took my first step into that studio, it changed my life. Everything turned out to be wonderful. Chris and Shanna are the most hard working, dedicated teachers i have ever met. They put their heart and soul into teaching kids the tecnique of dance. Their recitals are phenomonial, leaving the crowd in awe. It's not easy being a dance teacher, and no one gives them enough credit. They have many students that attend their studio, and the number keeps growing everyday. This goes to show you how amazing these two teachers are and that's why the classes can sometimes be big. It dosnt matter if you are in the back, middle or the front line...dancing is dancing. If its what you love to do, it wont matter. Dancers aren't made of their technique, or the line they are put in..... but by their passion. Chris and Shanna have helped me find the passion of dance, and if thats not a great dance teacher then i dont know what is. Pros: Everything! Cons: Nada! more
