There are major issues with this studio, including that the owners have, for the past year, focused on a very small group of students, including only those in their daughter's class. This is because they wanted their daughter to get competition experience, so they only selected her class plus one group of older girls who had been at the studio for many years. They did not open this experience up the every dancer at the studio by holding open auditions for everyone to have a chance. Everyone else received limited attention and left many 10-13 yr old girls feeling they were not good enough, or were not liked by the owners. Be a smart consumer and do some research before you go to this studio. or any other studio. You will find that the well run studios allow everyone a chance to audition for competition teams; they are not hand picked by the owners. Also, ask to see the recital programs for 06 and 07, then count the actual number of students. You will see that this studio numbers are down by at least 75 to 100 students this year because many, many have left for very valid reasons. This should raise a red flag to you. Ask if these owners, who are the teachers, are certified to teach. They are not. This means they are not experienced in how to teach, how to encourage and motivate young children. They do not know how to build self esteem through the dance experience. Ask around town. When someone tells you how great the studio is, ask them if their child went to competition. If they did, then they are in that small, select group and so of course they think it's great. This small group received hours upon hours of additional training, while most others at the studio were ignored. Then there is their most recent advertisement in a local publication where they are advertising that boys dance for free at this studio. Isn't that discrimination against girls? Also, many previously posted negative reviews posted here have been deleted, probably because the owners complained. Pros: Do your research for your child's sake! Cons: Not a positive place for self esteem of children, customers not valued
