I took my 12 year old German Shepherd in for her annual exam. She has always had clean teeth but this time they said she had a bad one that ""might need to be removed"" Keep in mind ONE TOOTH! I took her back a few weeks later and ... they removed TEN OF MY DOGS TEETH! My estimate was 200-600, and it was OVER SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS. You know some folks would have had to skip a rent payment to go from a 200-300 job (because remember ONE tooth MIGHT need to come out) to SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS! Not to mentions my sweeties QUALITY OF LIFE WITH NO ^*%*%&$%& TEETH! When I asked the Vet why she didnt call me she said she was ""busy"" and ""wanted to do the best thing for Gracie."" This place is a joke. They also charged my parents 20 bucks to trim their German Shepherds nails. They used a contaminated nail clipper and my moms dog got a terrible infection and she ripped them all out!! DON'T GO HERE!!!! more

Debra Davison is a horrible vet. Do not let this woman treat your pets. She almost killed mine by rushing into a diagnosis which was incorrect. We took our dog in as he had been sick (vomiting, no appetite, lethargic, etc) for a few weeks. The hospital took four x-rays - none of which showed anything unusual or abnormal. However, Davison became convinced, despite no actual proof, that my dog had some type of obstruction in the stomach or intestines. Instead of taking time to run all appropriate tests and consider all options, she practically forced us into a $3500 exploratory surgery. I even asked her if there were any other options or tests we could do before surgery and the only things she came up with was either an ultrasound or a barium contrast x-ray - both costing over $500 and according to her, not very reliable. No once did it ever occur to her to mention a quick, painless, and inexpensive blood panel. Only by sheer luck did she run a blood test before starting the surgery, then informed me, ""It's a good thing I did the blood panel first, if I would have put him under anesthesia, he probably would have died."" She admitted to my face that she almost killed him out of negligence and impatience, and made it sound like she was some sort of hero for saving his life. Even if he had survived, it would have cost us the $3500, plus he would have still been sick! I don't trust this woman, her judgment, or her ability to safely practice pet medicine. Interested in making money over convenience for their client 3/16/2012

I’ve been with LPAH for five years and have always had pretty good service with them. About a year ago one of my dogs needed some pain meds. LPAH charged $140 for them. When it came time to refill the Rx I checked on-line and found them for $80. But LPAH would not fax the Rx to 1800petmeds, so I went in and picked it up and mailed it off. I know live an hour away and have still been going to LPAH and have spent $1,000 on vet bills there. The Rx came up for refill and they refused to re-fill it with 800petmeds, refused to fax it to them, and even refused to verify the Rx, that I scanned and sent to 1800petmeds, was valid over the phone. Of course they offered to fill it for me there, for $140 and a two hours of driving to pick it up. I used to have three friends that worked there too, which is why I started using LPAH, and kept using them even though their fees were high and the hassle with the Rx the 1st time. So I’m now taking my business elsewhere since it’s clear they would rather make $60 off me than do what’s best for my pet. more

Dishonest and expensive 6/29/2011

The vet was dishonest and they do not follow their estimates at all. They will give you one price, and charge you a lot more. They have a lot of hidden charges too. Save yourself the frustration and take your pet somewhere where the people care about the animals and not the money. more

Avoid This Vet if You Love your Animals! 11/16/2008

We have used Longs Peak Vet and were happy with the care, service and prices for five years. The clinic was recently sold to another veterinarian and has since gone down hill in the quality of care with a marked increase in prices. No instructions for a post operative dog, mis-diagnosis, incomplete labeling of medication and a very condescending attitude by the vet owner are a few of the issues we had. The breaking point came when our dog had a lump surgically removed from her leg (turning out not to be cancer) but the incision was poorly closed (botched staples) and the leg became infected. We had to take her back in a second time and put under to have the sutures properly done. The vet admitted to the poor suture job but charged us for the second surgical procedure! Please do yourself a favor and avoid this vet. Your animals and bank account will thank you. Cons: Poor care, arrogant staff and owner, high prices. more
