THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL>INCONSIDERATE>UNTRUTHFUL COMPANY 1/23/2012

I currently have an apartment with Seaway and am VERY UNHAPPY with the decision that I have made. Which is why I have decided to join this site to help anyone I can not make the same mistake! 1. They never follow through upon an agreement rather you have to constantly nag to remind them and hopefully get it accomplished within a decent time period i.e. 1. And oven put in my apartment 1 1/2 months 2. Maintenance issues range from 3-5 months to name a few. 2. To get there attention I have to constantly call with no response most times, if I call 15 times they call once. 3. They have no respect for their tenants and will argue! 4. They said they would clean my apartment upon moving in and did not there were old air refreshens in my apartments, dirty curtains, dirty refrigerator ect... 5. this has been the most frustrating and stressful experience especially for the money that I pay for my apartment! more

Worst company imaginable! 9/19/2011

As a resident of Heather Village, I couldn't agree more about how unprofessional, unfriendly, and simply inhumane in the handling of resident issues by this company is. We are accused of breaking condo association rules, but when we asked for a copy of these rules so that we could follow them, we were refused. I would like to know what the condo association fees cover, since every issue we have, we are told that it is our responsibility to cover fixing the issues. When we asked what the fees cover, they were very vague. For example, the fees supposedly cover the cable, but we have barely any signal. The cable techs told us the wiring in the whole complex is shoddy, and that the association needs to get it re-done. According to SeaWay, that is not their responsibility. Another example is the roof. We have a lot of water damage on the third floor (even while paying higher condo association fees for the ""new"" roof), but we were told only that they would need to send someone out to see if the roof is what caused the water damage. Nobody has even called to schedule this. We are told different things at different times by Dolores Brown, which are clearly conflicting, but she remains adamant that she is right, while refusing to back up any of her claims in writing. If we had known about the kinds of problems we would have here, there is absolutely NO way we would have moved in here! more

Take caution! The most unprofessional business in Toledo. 2/16/2010

Please beware about Seaway! The company seems to have no policies with regards to it's tenants. Every transaction or communication with the management seems to be dictated by the manager's mood and day of the week. Do not think that they will stick to what was agreed in the lease, they will charge more than agreed, and if you confront the blatent disregard of law, they will arrogantly make invalid excuses and never take fault for mistakes. Check the lease for every word they say and make sure it is accurate. Do not settle for verbal agreements, but get everything in writing if you want it to be honored the next day. When told that the manner of business was unprofessional and quite disturbing, one manager replied, 'I don't care!' Do not trust anyone and watch every move they make. There are no rules or policies that are followed at Seaway, it is more like a bunch of children trying to make a buck at every oppurtunity. more

I wish I'd listened to the other bad review 11/16/2009

I wish I'd listened to the bad review on this page. In the 9 months since we hired them, they reduced our building's occupancy from 95% to 40%, they brought in only ONE new tenant, they refused to do any real marketing but stuck with the same old things they'd always done (sign, ad) even though we gave them some great ideas that worked elsewhere. The woman who ran the place really alienated some of the tenants. One of them filed a complaint against her (Dolores Brown) with the Fair Housing council in Toledo, which is investigating. So in 9 months they reduced the actual value of this one building by $100,000. This is the worst experience ever with a property management company. They refused to pursue having Section 8 clients in there because they didn't like them, whereas other owners had told me good things about these tenants. The prior owner gave us strong suggestions about things like bill collection, etc., which they refused to follow, so their collections went from $4800 to $950+/- a month!!! They purport to ""care"" about their owners, but in truth make sure you don't ask them ANY questions about how they do things. They take that as an insult, which is absurd. Our experience should tell you a lot about whether they can give you good service or not. The answer is: No! Good luck! Cons: unfriendly to tenants; zero marketing skills, unresponsive more
