Glad I Trusted my eyes to Scwartz 8/3/2009

When trying to figure out where to have my laser eye surgery in Phoenix, I came across two places that came with high recommendations. Upon calling both, I found that I immediately felt comfortable with the staff at Schwartz. As a hopeful future pilot for the military, it is needless to say that I was willing to pay a little more to make sure I found the best. I had always expected to pay between $4-5k for my procedure, which I expected to be no bells and whistles plain PRK. When I went in for my initial evaluation, I was surprised when Dr. Scwartz sat down with me and went over my options. I eventually opted for a top of the line custom PRK surgery, still below what I had envisioned for a price tag. I am still just a few days out from the surgery and my eyes are recovering, but I felt very prepared for what was to come and I am very glad I trusted my eyes to Dr. Schwartz. I would and will be recommending him to my friends in the military or otherwise looking to have laser vision correction. Pros: Friendly personal staff, professionalism, efficiency Cons: none so far more

Probably worth an hour wait... 8/12/2008

I signed up solely because the 1 star review annoyed me and I wanted to give my take on Schwartz Laser Eye Center. I went there a year ago, never had issues with waiting, consulted with some severely intelligent staff as well as Dr. Schwartz, reviewed my options, picked IOLs (implanted lenses), got the surgery a month later, and now have ridiculously clear vision (20/15). Dr. Schwartz is the opposite of high pressure. I've never had a doctor shoot that straight with me about options and he never made me feel like his limited time was limited. As well, I felt 100% confident that he was a pro at what he did and I got a top notch surgery. My eyes are two of my five favorite organs and I wasn't messing around when I researched surgeons.\r \r So, I think I encountered some non-chalant office staff on my first trip as well, but entitled complaining about an extra hour? Who gives an eff? I got crazy eye mods that give me 20/15 vision. more

great staff, professional, excellent patient care 9/13/2007

I don't know what happened with the other person that reviewed Dr. Schwartz's office, but my experience was nothing short of fantastic! The staff was very friendly and really knew their stuff. I was very impressed with the doctors and assistants, and how personable and professional they were. I'm not sure if the previous reviewer has ever visited a doctor's office before in her entire life, but I know when I go, I EXPECT a bit of a wait. Honestly, the wait is not that bad. The sign of a good doctor's office is one where the doctors and assistants take their time with each patient and make sure things are done right. These are, after all, our EYES we're talking about. This isn't a fast food restaurant! And the front desk staff told me my eyes would be dilated when I scheduled the appointment. In fact, every year I've had my eyes dilated. Any good eye doctor would do so... not JUST if you have diabetes. Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Friendly & knowledgeable staff... great experience! 9/13/2007

Dr. Schwartz wouldn't have the reputation he does without excellent service and patient care.\r I HIGHLY recommend Schwartz Laser Eye Center for your next eye exam!!! Don't let one bitter old lady that can't follow instructions and doesn't know a thing about patient care persuade you to go to some hack eye surgeon that will get you in and out like a McDonald's drive-thru! Pros: friendly and professional staff, good reputation, great patient care Cons: when impossible-to-please people complain about EVERYTHING. This place is great! more

The WORST experience I have had at an eye doctor!!! 6/8/2007

This is the worst experience I have ever had at an eye doctor!!! I am new to the Phoenix area so I looked on my insurance and called an eye doctor on the list. I have worn contacts for 15 years and have had several doctors, but have never had an awful experience like this. Let me give you the laundry list of what is wrong with the Schwartz Laser Eye Center. \r \r - I had an appointment at 9:00 am and was not called in to even meet with an assistant until 10:00 am. Who knows when I would have gotten to see the doctor; I didn't wait around after the following happened.\r Also, others were speaking about there long wait.\r - When I asked the assistant if this long wait was normal, she responded like I should know that it was ""surgery day"" and that they run behind on ""surgery day"". Well don't make appointments if you know you are going to have people waiting around for an hour. I mean this place has such a lack of respect for people's time.\r - Then she said ""I will be getting you ready to see one of the doctors"". I asked ""so I am not seeing the doctor I made the appointment with?"" She replies back with ""who did you make the appointment with?"" Talk about feeling like a number.\r - Then she said we are doing a whole exam for you, including eye dilation. I said I have to go back to work; do I have to do the eye dilation? She said yes, so I just left after wasting an hour. There are several things that were wrong with the eye dilation.\r 1. They should have told me when I made the appointment so I would be prepared.\r 2. I called my previous doctor and asked him about the eye dilation and he said if you don't normally get it done unless you have diabetes or other aliments. I have worn contacts 15 years and have only gotten my eyes dilated twice.\r \r When I looked up the Schwartz Laser Eye Center to try to write this review, I realized that they service the Phoenix Suns, Cardinals, etc. I guess if you are not on the team, you are not entitled to good service.\r Pros: Nothing Cons: Long Wait, No respect for people's time, Feeling like just another patient more
