Due to illegible and horribly corroded gas gauges which made the 500-gallon tank unsafe to properly fill for which I asked to have either the gauges replaced or the tank replaced repeatedly over an extended time period I cancelled my account & requested that Schagrin Gas pick up its tank. The credit I got for less than a week old propane (they had just come to fill the tank without me knowing) was at the rate NINE YEARS ago when the tank was put in NOT what I just got charged. On top of that they want me to pay for them to take back their unsafe tank. \r \r When the 500 gallon tank was full, it should have been at 80% capacity or 400 gallons. In looking at the original contract it says I was charged for 425 gallons of propane which is 25 gallons over capacity. Schagrin however didn't use the 425 gallon figure when they figured out their credit. Either I was overcharged for 25 extra gallons of propane or I was credited incorrectly for the amount of propane left in the tank when it was picked up. \r \r I would NOT recommend this company for they have very unsafe and high-handed business practices. How they treat their customers can only be described as unbelievable. more

Worst company you can possibly deal with! Proceed at your own risk. 0 stars would be too kind. I say this with 10 years experience as a customer who has a leased tank from Schagrin. They could not produce a copy of the tank lease from previous owner, would not remove the tank despite my repeated requests and then threatened to sue me if I removed the tanks. They also made a propane delivery after I stopped service in writing and billed me. Not a good sign when an excellent paying customer for years is threatened in this way. more

Schagrin Gas is the Worst 3/7/2012

Unfortunately I can t give them 0 stars. If you have the opportunity to choose your gas company, then don t choose this one. They are awful. I believe that they would not be in business if they didn t have contracts with home builders. They had a contract with our home builder. Therefore, they put in a tank and then own the tank. If you want to have it pulled up and get another company you can t until five years. Even after five years you have to pay them to remove their tank from your ground. Several of my neighbors sued them to have their tanks removed. The women in the office are witches. The delivery drivers are really nice. They have told me before that they don t like the office women either. If you are building a house, then look elsewhere. It may seem cheap to have them put in the tank for you, but believe me they will more than make up for it. more
