VEGAN MENU!!! 4/6/2010

This is a cute Caribbean Restaurant hidden off the beaten path of the main through fare in Addison. I absolutely love that they have a Vegan Menu, being that I am Vegan and I do live in Addison. This is the perfect restaurant to add to my list of favorites. I tried the Rastafarian Black Bean Stew and a Roti Shell and it was absolutely mouthwatering. I can go there everyday and eat. The prices are very economic and the food is cooked fresh and healthy everyday! Love it! This place is a must try! Pros: Delicious Food...Friendly Staff!!! WOW! In Dallas?? Real Home Food??The answer is yes. This location is next to a popular night club but don't let that scare you away. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could. Started off with Phoulorie and the Jerk Chicken soup. VERY Good... BTW the resturant is VERY clean. FYI. Ok back to the food. I had the combo plate curry goat jerk chicken and curried shrimp. YUMMMM. Since there isn't another resturant like this here in the DFW area its hard to find all the goodies in the same spot. Overall ... Go try it ... You won't be sorry. more

Great food, price and service! 9/3/2009

I have never eaten Caribbean food before, and I have to say...Scarlet Ibis is my new favorite restaurant. My girlfriend and I had the Doubles and Phoulorie as appetizer, and both were good. Pros: Awesome food, great prices, friendly service Cons: I got full and couldn't keep trying things. more

Craving for plantain 2/10/2009

I wanted to eat something like home tasting, and the picture of the ""Stewed Oxtail"" made me even hungrier. Service was Ok, I tried a Ting (grapefruit soda) not very tasteful for me. The we tried ""Phoulorie"" as appetizer, they are little dough made of split pea flour fried and served in a thin sweet chutney tamarin sauce. My friend asked for the ""Ribeye Stake"" and I ordered The ""Stewed Oxtail"", both with rice with peas and plantain. We really enjoyed the food. more

Best Caribbean Food in Dallas! 12/8/2008

I am so happy to have found this little jewel of a restaurant. Being from the Caribbean myself I loved the Bake and Shark entree- absolutely delicious and a must try! This restaurant is lovely and quaint - I really like the chandeliers. The people there were helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back there very soon! Pros: Good price, good quality, friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere. Cons: Did not get to try everything I wanted, but I will be back! more
