Excellent Entertainment 10/30/2009

Wonderful piano bar! The room is very large and set up in a way that allows everyone to feel they're part of the show. The players are extremely talented. Each is skilled in piano and crowd interaction, and vocals range from pretty good to outstanding. Each player seems to have unique talents and his own personality. I particularly enjoy Spencer Bates(fantastic, versatile vocals, varied and updated song choices, strong crowd interaction) and Tim Buie (always seems to love making music; a true pro). I've been to many piano bars and Smiles is one of the most laid-back, fun-loving, and yet still very professional venues I've enjoyed. A must-do in Savannah! Pros: Extreme talent, updated show, wonderful crowd interaction Cons: Smoking more

Love this Bar !!!!!!!! 7/28/2009

Our friends Lisa and Steve Stokes from Byron Ga invited us to go with them to Savannah on July 3and 4th. We had never been to Savannah Smiles we went and had the best time. Such a good time we ended up driving back the following weekend for 2 more nights. This will be the 3rd time this month thats how much we like it. Hope to see u there July 31,2009 Thanks Barney and Kim Perry Ga Pros: Best Bar in Town Cons: No drawbacks well maybe the cover charge we spend so much more

Terrible Service, Terrible Bar Staff 7/18/2009

Savannah Smiles is a sorry excuse for a piano bar. The biggest problem I have with them is first off you pay a cover charge to get into to the place. The drinks are the most expensive at any bar downtown. The barstaff are a bunch of a holes and the service is terrible. The piano players are decent, but they play the same songs every night. This is by far the worst piano bar I have ever been to in savannah and I would not reccomend it to anyone. Pros: not any I can think of Cons: Bartenders, Overpriced drinks more

Very funny. Had a great time! 7/5/2009

Very talented pianoist! Very fun! more

Savannah Smiles is a real dud in the Dueling piano realm 2/11/2009

I have been to several Dueling Piano bars around the country and this one falls short in many ways. The players seem extremely intoxicated (Jan 09)& don't interact with the clientele at all. I have been there on several occasions to give it a fair go, but every time I have been there they insist on making the show a duplicate of the night before and on the weekends they do these silly "DATED" show times with their wait staff leaving the whole bar empty of waitress's! Who wants to get a table then have to fight your way to the bar just to get a drink. Way under staffed and the piano players are a complete joke! There is a great big fat man who looks like he could keel over at any moment from being so drunk and just fat. A little guy who plays piano & who can't hold a tune to save his life. I guess if you like ground hogs day ...you will like Savannah Smiles. If you want decent priced drinks & sincerely want to be entertained go some place else. Plus the bar staff is pretty rude and not fun at all more

Overpriced and Undertalented 12/9/2008

I came to Savannah Smiles with my boyfriend in June of '08 and had a great time. It was overpriced then but the show was so good I didn't mind. After returning last weekend it was like night and day. The show was absolutely terrible and so loud we had to leave. It's like the show stopped catering to the young crowd. There was no new music anymore, just classic rock. And two words for the surfer haired piano player - You are not very good, you are really bad! Learn to play and sing! And the waitstaff was super slow. It took over a half hour to get 3 drinks. I was so embarrassed because I talked the place up and had my girlfriends with me. I won't be back ever. more

Fun atmosphere, but bar stinks! 8/20/2008

We went out to Savannah Smiles because my boyfriend's sister has begged us to many times. I'm not into bars and night clubs, but I must say it was worth it. The only problem I had was how long it took us to get drinks at the bar and close out our tab. I got pretty frustrated every time I went to the bar. Overall, it was pretty entertaining. Pros: Ambience Cons: Service at the bar more

Savannah Smiles 5/26/2008

I was recently in Savannah on a Insurance seminar. We came across Savannah Smiles and I was a bit apprehensive to go in because of all the vagrants hanging around outside. We all went in while they were playing a very bad Meatloaf medley and it was very loud. A few people wanted to leave and check out other bars, but we stayed and were pleasantly surprised when two new players came on stage. They did more current songs such as soulja boy & crazy biotch etc..instead of the same old hum drum sweet Caroline and margaritaville. It was nice to hear more current songs for a change. If the other players wouldn't have come up and played those songs we would have left for sure. The wait staff was good at first about getting us our drinks, but after a while they seemed to forget about us. They were way under staffed for that size of club. At one point all the wait staff was on stage dancing after we had just put a drink order in and our drinks never showed up!! Why did we need to play $5 cover to get into a bar to watch a bad rendition of coyote ugly? This isn't the 80's still!! Then all four piano players got on stage and did a couple songs as a group. The song I liked the most was Hey ya! The other songs were very boring and they should have quit while they were ahead! When the older guys got back on stage we had to leave... they were kinda a buzz killl! All in all a pretty good time hearing the current stuff and drinking lots of alcohol Pros: never seeing piano players play current music Cons: drinks were really expensive & staff unattentive/ no drink specials more

Depends on which night you show up... couple players are good and some not so good! 5/26/2008

I have been to Savannah Smiles 4 or 5 times and some of the piano players are wonderful, but there is one guy named Marty who is a big drunk & he isn't very good. There is another player named Jim who can't sing at all. If you can bare through those two and get to the next two you will have a good time. The wait staff is horrible so go get your own drinks at the bar or beer stand... try other Piano bars around they are much better, but if in Savannah check it out! Pros: Big bar with lots of people Cons: cover, bad wait staff & drunk old piano players more

Great night out with the Girls!!! 5/28/2007

I recently went to Savannah for a girl?s weekend. One of the girls was getting married and we wanted to find a fun bar to celebrate her last night out! We had to find a bar that was wheelchair accessible too. We walked right up to Smiles and were able to get in with no wait. From the moment we walked in the door we were entertained. We were ushered up on stage by one of the pianists and had to dance in front of the whole bar. You can also tip the guys playing piano $5 or more and they will play any request. They are very entertaining. If you are celebrating any event, go there and you will be entertained! We all had a blast and will defiantly come back again!! Plus they had really awesome Jello-shots. Pros: Wheelchair accessible, Fun, The pianists will make you laugh more

The people who work there were nice the drinks were good and the piano players are amazing. you have to see them when ever your in town. We had a great time. Pros: entertainment, atmosphere and service Cons: Parking more

great bar 10/18/2005

This is a very neat place to visit. You can request your songs on a napkin and the piano players will play it for you. Great place for a large group of people to hang out. Pros: inexpensive, lively more

Walking in Memphis 6/6/2003

If you can get them to sing this song, you are in for a treat!!! We had so much fun and will definitely go again. DO NOT buy shots there though... they are damn $5 apiece! Pros: Fun, Entertaining more
