Dr. West is a horrible dentist and I would not recommend that office to anyone. They over-charge and they do not document everything they do to your teeth so they can get money out of you. Dr. West put a huge dent in tooth #7 while filling teeth #8,9 and 10. I had another dentist there fix my #7 and correctly file down the others. A month later the filling for #7 fell out when I was flossing and I explained this when I the appt. I had the filling fixed and they tried charging me over $100 for this work Dr. West created by being careless. Both dentist did not even document working on #7. What is going on with this place????????????? Pros: NONE Cons: Do not go there more

We were given a quote by the office manager roshana and after contacting our insurance company we found out she was charging us $650 for a crown that was only suppose to be $325. Where is the mark up coming from? DO NOT GO THERE!!!! And if you do verify stuff with your insurance before you do any type of work!!! more

The last time I was in the office I had an appointment, I showed up 15 early and waited for 45 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. Their excuse was that they were over booked. I would have left but I had already taken time off work to be there, so I waited it out. My husband went to his appointment on another day and had the same experience, and we given a HARD sell on some extra work the dentist thought he should have done and when my husband said no they tried to make him feel guilty. He came home and said I will never go back there again. We have never gone back and are in the process of finding a new dentist. more

I also had the same bait and switch problem. I was quoted one amount and then lo and behold 90 days later I received a bill saying only they were sending me into collections for another $300 (this was the first piece if mail I received from them). It would be nice if they could tell you how much there services will be upfront instead of tacking it on months after the work has been done. more

if you have dental insurance make sure you know what they(santee cottonwood dental) have agreed to charge you. It's pre-arranged with the dental insurace company. if you don't then you may get over charged like we did. They didn't help us until I showed the owner what she should have charged. Only then did the owner credit the account. more

2 times they have wanted me to "leave and come back another time" since they were running behind. The worst is that they tell me one price (my co-pay was supposed to be under $100), then right before the work needed my co-pay increased to over $1000.00. They inflated the bill with all kind of unquoted costs. I'm not so sure all the work is necessary. I'll take my large family somewhere else from now on. Wish Dr Jagger was there--she wouldn't let this happen. more

The dentist said my son's wisdom teeth were impacted and he need to have them pulled. Roshana told me the office had a great oral surgeon and I should wait and use him. 6 months later the oral surgeon is still not covered under our insurance and my son's teeth are now hurting and swollen. Roshana sets us up with an emergency appointment with a great oral surgeon in La mesa. On the morning of the surgery we are sitting in the oral surgeon's office and they say the referal is no good. I call and talk to Roshana at Cottonwood Dental and she tells me she's looking at my son's x-ray and he no longer has any wisdom teeth. When I go into the office I am told I need to pay $100.00 for an x-ray. What happened to the x-ray they took when they told my husband and my son that his teeth were impacted and who's x-ray was she looking at when she told me my son did not have any wisdom teeth. Why should I have to pay $100.00 for an x-ray they lost. Roshana told me she was going to transfer me out of the office because I yelled at her.
