Dangerous Practice. RUN, do not walk away from this office! 9/18/2011

I'm copying this from my google review that I wrote a while back. I think they are so dangerous I think it necessary to be sure I post here and on other sites, too. To each their own, but please be careful of this practice! Here it is: After my first (and last) visit here, I vowed I would receive NO prenatal care before returning to this place. The front desk staff are rude. My first appointment took THREE HOURS - Im not exaggerating. It took 3 hours from arrival (I arrived 15 minutes early) to when I finally left. The doctor (Cotwright) actually recommended I use a painkiller with aspirin in it (every other doctor and medical professional I have spoken with besides them has literally dropped their jaw in shock when I tell them this). She didnt know answers to many of my questions but never took the time to look them up and give me the answers like she said she would. The ultrasound tech never told me that the first ultrasound is vaginal. I realize most women know this, but as this is my first baby I had no idea. The US tech literally just said, ""This will be cold"" as the only words to me from when I entered her room until the exam started and immediately after saying those words jammed the wand up inside me. When I cried (happily) upon seeing the baby on the screen, she looked at me with an annoyed expression and said in an equally annoyed voice, ""Whats wrong with you?"" Ummmmm, yeah. I was shocked. Of course, I had to ask to see the baby. She wasnt even going to let me see the baby until I asked. These are just a few examples of what makes them terrible - there were many more that occured in that 3 hour marathon visit where hardly any actual treatment happened, including a very painful PAP smear (the results of which have been magically lost). Honestly, DONT go to these people. They are incompetent, rude, impatient, and miserable. I would feel unsafe if any one of them were going to deliver my baby. I have asked my primary MD to stop referring patients to them and plan to call JCAHO to report them. Drive from wherever you are and try to get in to see Drs. Muth, Weber, and Oster in Long Beach - the are the greatest OBGYN docs around in comparison to anyone, nevermind the incompetent people at this office. Honestly, I think the the doctors at medical group- womens physicians are doctors like Dr. Dre is a doctor, or Dr. J or Dr. Pepper are doctors. more

Worst medical experience EVER! 12/5/2007

I completely agree...this was by far the worst experience I have ever encoutered at a doctor's office. The staff were all very rude and made many mistakes. I have bad acne and went to see dr. goodlerner for some treatment. She put me on accutane, the strongest acne medication out there. It started from the very beginning when she diagnosed me. I came back to pick up my prescription and they didn't even know why I was there. I figured since it took me this long to find a dermatologist I stick it out with them. Anyway that was a already a waste of money since I had already taken my bloodtest which cost a couple hundred and already was there for my appointment. They refused to admit their faults and did not want to reimburse me. When I saw the Dr., she completely ignored my concern and told me I'd have to do another bloodtest and follow up before I started the medication. They forgot to register me with the accutane company. Anyway that was just the beginning. There was just soooo many things that happened that I cannot get into detail because it's just so much. From scheduling me wrong appointment dates and having me wait 2 hrs to see the dr. to ignoring my health when I was on accutane. They clearly DO NOT care for their patients, I truely feel they just want money. I was humiliated and heartbroken every time I visited the office. They were so rude and could not fathom the pain and embarrassment someone with acne goes through. The office staff are very unprofessional and I hope no one has to go through what I did. It's been a year since I've been off accutane and since I've seen them and I'm still waiting for my $750.00 reimbursement that they keep promising me... more

The worst experience I have ever had... 1/18/2007

Her office made a mistake and ordered me a name-brand perscription when I asked for generic. The office and the doctor did not admit to the mistake or correct it and it cost me $150. The office staff was the rudest I've ever encountered- one receptionist flat out lied and said that I told her one thing which I absolutely did not. The doctor blamed the receptionist's rudeness on english not being her first language, which I highly doubt was the problem. In my opinion if your staff can't even be semi-courteous to your patients they have no business being in a position where they must interact with people. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor's office. Cons: rude staff, won't admit to mistakes more
