Poor Customer Service 11/16/2008

Walked in with my kids and even said 'Hello' to one of their staff who did not even return a smile. The whole time we were in there no one came by and asked if we needed help or even made eye contact. VERY COLD - Particularly the heavy set woman with curly hair. Now, I'd like to think they were just too busy and didn't want to be pushy, but they seem much nicer to the other people in there who weren't asian. What ever the reason, I would think you could at least acknowledge your customers when they come into the store and make them feel welcomed. Pros: Lots of books Cons: Poor service more

Educational and Fun! 7/14/2008

I have been shopping at this wonderful store for many years, since my now 16 year old twins were toddlers and I have always been treated with kindness. I have bought and returned exchanged and special ordered books and have never had a problem. I went into the store just a few days ago and after reading the angry review below I noticed right behind the counter in plain view is the return policy for the store which although can be viewed as strict, is completley necessary. Also when I have returned items and have recieved store credit I have always been able to use it just like cash would and I prefer that because I am unlikely to spend the credit like I would spend the cash.I love this store and the ladies that work there are helpful and are trying to make your choices easy and not just expensive. If in the area stop by and it will be difficult to leave without buying a single item. If you are discouraged by the angry review below every person experiences a difficult time but the store is unique and carries items of quality that will never be found at toys r us or even online. Pros: Helpful workers, unique toys and willing to special order whent they are able to Cons: They can get really busy on saturdays so unless you are going to a party and need something then would suggest going more

Personal Old Fashioned Service 7/11/2008

I have been going to this small imtimate shop for years. It doesn't carry the usual electronics, but what it misses in technology it makes up with great service. I was able to get a gift for later that afternoon, wrapped and ready to go, and order a few gifts to be shipped to my cousin with a new baby boy. All this and it also has a cute book section. So not only can i get toys but my older kids can order or pick up books for their summer reading and/or book reports. i have seen only a handful of places that have all this and are willing to work around you to get whatever you need, whether in the shop or not. This great local gem is definitely a place i plan to make a regular stop and continue going for years to come. Pros: gift wrap, knowledgeable staff, and for me local Cons: sometimes staff can be bombarded by Saturdays crowd more

Unethical and the worst service I have received from a Toy store. 7/9/2008

Ok, so my wife goes into the San Marino Toy store and purcahses a Clack & Walk Walker for our 10 month old. As she was checking out, she asked the young girl (cashier) if the walker didn't work out could she return it. The young girl told her that it's no problem, she said, ""just bring it back."" SHE FORGOT TO MENTION THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, THAT MERCHANDISE MUST BE RETURNED WITHIN 3 DAYS. Pros: n/a Cons: unethical, unpleasant, you can find the toys online for cheaper more
