Definitely some of the best steak you'll ever eat. Very helpful wait staff. Busy place. more

Will definitely visit again - Fillet Mignon was INCREDIBLE! 3/1/2011

My first experience with the Saltgrass Steakhouse was in San Antonio, TX. My girlfriends and I were extremely impressed with the food, drinks and atmosphere. I had asked the manager in Texas if there were any locations in the Colorado area and was excited to find out there was a location in Parker (20 minutes from my home). My fianc? and I had friends coming in from out of town and I suggested we check out the Saltgrass. I went online, got the number, and made a reservation. Afterward, I read the negative reviews and became hesitant on keeping the reservation. We picked our friends up and offered to dine out somewhere else, but we decided to stick with our plans for the Saltgrass Steakhouse. We dine out frequently and arrived at the Saltgrass with low expectations. The atmosphere was not as nice as the San Antonio location, but after all, we?re talking Parker, CO in comparison to the Riverwalk. We were greeted by a friendly staff and seated within a few minutes. I decided to order the same meal I had in Texas so that I could truly compare ? Fillet Oscar (7oz. Fillet, topped with Crab and a Hollandaise Sauce, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus). We ordered our steak Medium-Rare and it was cooked to perfection. We both agreed it was one of the best steaks we had ever had (which would include restaurants such as The ChopHouse, Brooks and Ocean Prime). Near the end of our meal, the manager came by our table to see if we were satisfied with the meal and service. I let him know that we had almost canceled our reservation after reading the reviews online but were so glad we decided to check it out for ourselves. The Saltgrass Steakhouse does not have the atmosphere of a high-scale restaurant, but the food and service was exceptional. While visiting San Antonio I had also tried the Beef Enbrochette and the Grilled Gulf Shrimp ? I am looking forward to trying these two appetizers at the Parker location the next time we visit. This is definitely a restaurant we will dine at again and I would encourage anyone who might be hesitant from some of the previous reviews to check it out for yourself ? and do try the Fillet Mignon, it was absolutely delicious! more

Saltgrass steak 6/3/2010

My wife is from Texas and we are frequent costumers. We are in a Travel assignment in Parker and were exited to learn that there was a Salt Grass just across from the Hospital. We have visited plenty of them, most of them in the South East of Texas and always love the food, attention to detail, and atmosphere. Unfortunately we cant say the same for this location. I don't know if you guys are loosing money in this one, but I can see a BIG difference in the locations. I ordered the large ribeye steak and, having had some of the best ribeye at the Kemah location, expected something at least close, if not the same. What I received was a grossely overcooked small STRIP steak. Now tell me...how are the two even close by comparison? The baked potato was drier than the dirt it grew in, the chicken tortilla soup tasted like it was from concentrate....and left concentrated-it couldn't have been thicker if I had added the potato to it! I was thoroughly disgusted and determined never to return, however, my wife convinced me to give SaltGrass another try...........in Texas! Hopefully y'all can visit our proud....and delicious....state one day and get some pointers Pros: Key lime pie, Salad Cons: Overcooked wrong steak thick bad soup. more

Save your money, this place sucks 4/19/2010

I went here after driving by it almost everyday for two years and figured ""why not"" . Me and my party of two went in on 4-18-10, a slow Sunday afternoon there, we were seated promptly and alarmed at the mess that was left on the table and seats. We complained to the hostess right while she was still there, came back, and very reluctantly cleaned our seats as if it was beyond her to do so. Dinner was served on-time, I ordered a filet medium, and it came to me rare, on a huge xxl sized plate that made it looked like a kids filet. I originally went there for a porterhouse, but i guess that is no longer on the menu. At the end of the meal our waitress-in-training told us to pay at the register, and we felt so dumb standing there with our check asking ""where's the register""....These guy's are a joke. Outback still is and will be the best bite for your buck when you are in the mood for a Steak. We will never come here again. Cons: Service more

The best Porterhouse EVER 12/31/2008

I was delighted when I found out Saltgrass after craving a porterhouse. We ran into a friendly manager at the checkout line at the store and asked if they sold porterhouse. After comfirming we went the very next night. Seeing the manager again he was very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. I have eaten there several times and have never been dissapointed! The management is on top of things and the staff is very knowladgeable of the entire menu. Like any resturant there are good nights and bad nights. We did not get the best service the last time we went but the manager came to say sorry and spoke with the staff. The rest of the evening we very well. Even gave me extra, extra ranch to take home and enjoy a few more times. There ranch dressing is to die for. My husband loves there there awesome Shiner Bock Beer Bread that is included with your meal along with a salad and sides. Pros: Great food, Quality, Location & Great food Cons: Waiting to be seated more

Will not go back 8/9/2008

Food was great, but the wait to seat, get a drink and getting you food was horrible. We will never fo back to Saltgrass until they get better wait staff. Pros: Food Cons: everything more

An upscale Texas Roadhouse/Loanstar Steakhouse... if you ask me. 4/22/2007

My girlfriend and stumbled on to the Saltgrass Grille on Saturday 4/21/07, and we thought we would give it a try. I had the Ribeye topped with mushrooms and onions and she had the seafood fondue (technically an appetizer). My steak was well prepared and very tasty; the fondue was creamy and quite filling as a meal. Our server was knowledgeable and very friendly. Overall I would rate it better than Loanstar and/or Texas Roadhouse but not as good as Outback or above Outback quality. Pros: Good food, knowledgeable waitstaff Cons: Limited menu more

Big Fancy Steakhouses better watch out! 10/18/2006

I used to live in Texas and so I'd like to think I know a thing or two about Steaks. When I moved to Colorado most places around here are big steakhouses like: Palm and Capitol Grill which have outrageous prices just for meat with sides being extra and the steaks are not cooked well. I was delighted when I found out Saltgrass was coming to Colorado since it was my favorite place to eat in Houston. They do not dissapoint! The management is on top of things clearly since this is one our the first restaurant in this state they aim to please. Pros: Steak, Baked Potatoes, White Chocolate Cheesecake and Tea! Cons: Very busy restaurant so may have to wait - use call ahead seating more

Fabulous steak, plan to wait, Management on top of things. 9/23/2006

Great menu. One of the best steaks you'll ever eat, make sure to try one of the toppings. Service normally good, but can be questionable. Pros: Fantastic steaks and salads. Cons: Plan to wait, especially on weekend. Service questionable. more
