While the Roasting Company is one of the oldest coffee shops in town, I suspect that the owners are losing their interest in the cafe because their coffees and teas just taste OLD...

The place is always PACKED 3/20/2006

I'm not a coffee drinker, so I've never personally visited The Salt Lake Roasting Co., however I will say that every single time I've driven by this place, the patio out front is always packed with people. Every table is taken. Even if it is freezing cold outside, there are people sitting out there. That tells me that they must have good coffee and that it is a good hang out joint. more

Great Desserts, Good Coffee 8/19/2005

Salt Lake Roasting Company has great desserts and serves up a hell of a coffee. They have a large selection of teas as well. Thank god the ridiculous Starbuck's lingo hasn't infiltrated this place. They have some of the best coffee beans in the valley. In fact, I would venture to say that they are better than Peet's, and Peet's is mighty fine. Cons? Well, the people working there aren't particularly nice. It's not that they are mean, they aren't very warm and friendly. It's been that way from day one. Don't get me wrong, they are efficient and don't cop attitude. much. I guess I expect it them to be a bit more friendly like other coffee shops. more
