His knowledge about the color and products he uses on my hair is exceptional and I can guarantee your hair will never feel or look better. His level of professionalism and the way he welcomes you into his chair go above and beyond expectations! Do yourself a favor, give David a call if you are looking for a new stylist. NIKI IS THE BEST!! I USED TO LOVE THIS PLACE, my husband and I have been clients for over ten years. NIKI is amazing!! BUT, on Tuesday evening we were both there for haircuts and a very disturbing thing happened, one of the other stylist made a complete fool of himself by first, saying we were not clients, OMG TEN YEARS!!! and then proceeding to make a total fool of himself by confronting our favorite stylist in a very bizarre fashion, I was made very uncomfortable and insulted by his comments, very rude and unprofessional, I believe his name as David. I WILL NOT GO BACK!!! Hopefully our stylist will move on to a more professional salon soon and we will definitely follow her! more

Went to Salon Lavonne for many years. Sadly I had to discontinue, which I did not want to do as it was so convenient to my home. But one mistake after another forced my hand. The work got sloppy, appointments were written down incorrectly - I even got sent home with wet hair because she had written down the wrong service and didn't have time (although there was no other client waiting and a blow-out to finish my hair would have taken 10 minutes, and I was charged full price). It's a great place to go for the first few years, and then the interest in keeping you as a client wanes. Sadly I cannot recommend Salon Lavonne. more

Monica Evenson is so great. She is fun to talk to , talented with color and gives a great hair-cut. I really don't have anything I don't like about her. The salon is clean, lively and you can have the beverage of your choice AND cookies, which I munch regularly. It is one of my favorite things to do for myself. more

I always wait until the last minute to get my hair done, so my usual stylist in downtown Portland was not available. After looking online for something close, I noticed that most had given this salon 5 stars, so I decided to give it a try. I called to first ask if they had anyone who knew how to cut my hair type (thick and coarse). The receptionist was wonderful and told me about Silvana, a stylist with the same hair type. I was fortunate that she had a cancellation, so could fit me in. Once there, Silvana listened to what I wanted, or thought I wanted, but gave honest feedback about some of the styles I was considering. After the cut, she walked me through what was needed to style it. I have never had anyone take the time to do this. I would highly recommend Silvana to anyone looking for a new stylist. ****One thing to know, since each stylist there is independent they only take cash or check. more

I have known Carol over 10 years now. She was the first person ever to do my hair. I worked with her at a salon in Albany for 11 years, and I am now making the hour long drive to her new salon. It's well worth the trip. The salon is beautiful too! Carol is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I have seen her do amazing work for so long, and she has an ability to make her clients' hair dreams come true! Also, If you love the Kardashian look like I do, Carol is the stylist for you! I have really curly, thick hair, and Carol is always able to make it look shiny, silky, and beautiful. more

I met Shannon over five years ago and I won't go anywhere else. I have unruly curly hair and Shannon knows just what to do with it! I have always kept it short, but Shannon has encouraged me to grow it out for the first time. She knows exactly what products Will keep it under control. Moroccan oil rocks! And so does Shannon! Shannon Pettyjohn is the best stylist I have ever had!!! I have been going to her since 2002. She always listens to my requests and makes thoughtful suggestions to ensure that my hair looks the best it can. I receive many compliments on my hair and have trusted Shannon to style my hair for many special occasions over the years and I've never been disappointed. Not only is she the best stylist around, but she I always leave the salon in a better mood because Shannon is always cheerful and a riot to talk to! I would recommend her to anyone!!! more

Niki is without a doubt the only stylist I have ever been to that has a passion for what she does...I have been going to her for over 10 years...everytime after seeing her I am continually getting compliments either on the color or cut...I put my hair in her ""hands"" and we decide together what to do...I hate to recommend her to highly as the already hard to get an appointment may become harder.... more

Shannon is by far the most talented stylist I have had in my almost 50 years. I have been going to her for almost 5 years now and will not go anywhere else. She does exactly what I want, makes good recommendations, and steers me away from my not so smart ideas. I totally trust her judgment and have never been disappointed. It helps that she is just the most sweetest person too. I almost hate writing this because she is already busy, guess I will just have to plan better! more

Carol Allgaier makes getting a hair cut a FANTASTIC experience, both the process itself & the finished product! She is fun to be with, does exactly what you ask, never keeps you waiting, always calls to verify your appointment, & cuts w/ precision & style. I trust her completely to give new ideas when I'm in a rut & have always loved what she comes up with! She does beautifully with color also. I have recommended her when people ask & will continue to do so! Salon Lavonne has a friendly atmosphere, offers refreshments, & uses (& sells) wonderful products, such as Bumble & Bumble. You can even grab a coffee &/or a bite to eat on your way in or out, @ the Olive & the Grape next door! more

I stopped by Salon Lavonne for a lunch hour appointment. I had seen a picture of Adele and I wanted her bangs - bad. Being the impatient imp that I am, I called in the morning to get an appointment for that afternoon and was set up with Monica Evenson. First, the salon is really lovely... It has a really expensive yet comfortable feel to it. Monica was GREAT! She respected that I wanted a minimal amount cut off of my length and cut my bangs EXACTLY as I wanted them. I had told her of my hair woes and all the bad experiences I'd had with bangs and she promised me that I wouldn't get any of that here, just a haircut I'll love... and she was right! The appointment went for about an hour and a half and cost a lot more than I'd usually pay but for me, it just goes to show that the extra time and money is totally worth it! This will now be the only place I go to get my hair cut! more

I met Monica 18 years ago at a baby swimming class. I had just moved to Oregon and couldn't find a good place to have my hair cut. I admired Monica's hair style and asked her where she had her hair done. She said she cut it herself - and that was it! I've been having my hair styled by Monica ever since. My hair is always (truly!) perfect, I've never had a complaint or concern. Monica is a true perfectionist and takes the time to always make it right for her clients. We've all gotten our hair done at some point, and sometimes we're thrilled but 9/10 times it's never what you envisioned you'd look like. Most of the time they just don't get it right, it never looks like that pictures you spent hrs. looking for, looking through every magazine, or looking through every possible ""hair styles"" website. Will I pretend like I love it and then as soon as I get in my car I break into tears? Well I guarantee you that you will never feel this way with MONICA! She is so meticulous and that's what makes her the best! She will make sure it looks exactly the way you want it. I know from my personal/families 13 year experience that we have never walked out of there unhappy, our hair always looks amazing and I get stopped all the time about my hair. ""where do you get it done?"" ""who does your hair?"" and my answer everytime is Salon Lavonne and ask for MONICA EVENSON, she is amazing:) Not only does she know what she's doing, she is so easy to get along with, and will keep you laughing and entertained the entire time. Monica has done my hair for 19 years and always does a spectacular job. She does it exactly how I want it and can also recommend the ""in"" hairstyles. I get people asking me on the street about my hair all the time and how I get it so perfectly blonde. Shannon has been doing my hair for 7 years, and she is the BEST at what she does. Whether I want to keep things the same or mix it up, she is ON IT. A good hair stylist is like gold. Once you find one, you should never let them go! I have trusted my hair to Lisa Roach for over 10 years and would never even think of switching to anyone else. Lisa is talented, personable, and very professional. I trust her completely with my hair and she knows what to do every time I come in, I don't even have to think about it. She is amazing with color, highlights, cuts, styling, whatever! Salon Lavonne is a located in a cute, low key shopping center in West lake, with plenty of parking and a very helpful staff. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, friendly, and sophisticated, without being pretentious. My 10 year old daughter also gets her hair done by Lisa and she loves her! more
