I always wait until the last minute to get my hair done, so my usual stylist in downtown Portland was not available. After looking online for something close, I noticed that most had given this salon 5 stars, so I decided to give it a try. I called to first ask if they had anyone who knew how to cut my hair type (thick and coarse). The receptionist was wonderful and told me about Silvana, a stylist with the same hair type. I was fortunate that she had a cancellation, so could fit me in. Once there, Silvana listened to what I wanted, or thought I wanted, but gave honest feedback about some of the styles I was considering. After the cut, she walked me through what was needed to style it. I have never had anyone take the time to do this. I would highly recommend Silvana to anyone looking for a new stylist. ****One thing to know, since each stylist there is independent they only take cash or check.
