I have been going to Phillip at Salon Jack for a few years for my hair color and it has never looked better. I receive compliments on my hair color all the time. I went to Salon Jack with the hopes they could fix my Bla haircolor and bad haircut i recieved locally at another salon. My color appointment was with Abby and i booked my haircut with Chad. All I can say is what a INCREDIBLE HAIR SERVICE they had to people come up with my haircolor formula (Kim who seems to be well respected for her color knowledge, and Abby who delivered exactly what they said ) and again for my cut with Chad who is BRILLIANT with his cutting style. I have had hair services all over the world and my experience at Salon Jack is by far my favorite. My hair is beautiful, bouncy, shiney and easy to do. I have already made my next appointment. I went there based on some of the reviews I read here. I think that the employee's are posting some of these reviews. It was one of the worst cuts I have ever had. However, Chad did not give me the cut, it was someone else. more

I had my hair cut by Chad and it was an amazing experience. He was so nice and knew exactly what he was doing. It was the first time I trusted that whatever was being done to my hair was going to look great. As other reviews have said, they don't rush at Salon Jack even if your appointment is technically over, they make sure everything is perfect... and my haircut was perfect. Selected this salon based upon City Search reviews and was not disappointed! Moved here fairly recently and needed a really good haircut - recovering fom a couple bad ones in the area - and got just what I wanted. Nicole cut my hair and 1 week later I still love it! I expect that a month from now I will still love it. She spent her time finding out my likes and dislikes and offered suggestions. (Not to mention she has a great personality and is a lot of fun to talk to!) But best of all she told me if after I spent some time with the cut if there was something I didn't care for she would correct it - ""anything to keep the scissors out of your hands"". After having a loyal realtionship to my stylist in my old hometown I am now looking forward to a long relationship with Salon Jack & Nicole. After reading all the great reviews on CitySearch, I gave Salon Jack St Pete a try. I saw Chad, and without a doubt, I received one of the best haircuts ever--I absolutely LOVED it. The second haircut was close....the 3rd not as great at the first but a good haircut nonetheless. I was scheduled for an appointment on December 21 at 3:00--just in time for the Christmas holidays.\r \r Because I had to wait upwards of 45 mins for previous appointments I called ~12:30 to verify whether Chad was on schedule. No one answered the phone so I left a message that I was in New Port Richey and would prefer to not rush to be there at 3 if I didn't need to be there until 3:30. I never received a call back, so called again at 2pm, enough time for me to get to St Pete by 3. I was told that I was his first appointment that day, and I'd absolutely positively be seen at 3. So I rushed to get there and arrived at 2:58, only to be told that ""Chad cancelled his day"". \r \r I asked if he was on his deathbed or if there was an emergency, and was told no, he has 2 businesses and that's what happens--he's busy. In 30 years I have never known of a stylist to cancel, particularly during the holidays. I was offered the option to see another stylist--if I waited about 2 hours--or I could see one of the new stylists (i.e., a new graduate from Aveda). I was also offered a free haircut but it was small consolation for his cancelling at such a critical time. I did get an apology, but I also got a lot of attitude as if I should not be annoyed. When I got home there was a message on my machine telling me Chad cancelled ""due to the busy holiday season"" and his first available appt is Jan 16. \r \r There was no way to get a appt elsewhere until after the holidays, and Chad had to know this, but didn't care. His cavalier attitude about cancelling is beyond unacceptable. Will I go back to Salon Jack? I think not....because who knows if Chad will feel like showing up for work that day??? more

The best hair cut I ever had was done by Lindsay at the salon jack in south Tampa. I wanted to change from long hair to short and I was a little scare about how it was going to turn out. I brought a picture to the salon to give her the idea of how i want it. the only thing I can say is that turn out better that the picture and that I was very happy of my new look. Everyone in my family and all my friend agreed that this was my best hair cut ever. I highly recommend salon jack to anyone. more

Honestly, the best hair cut and style I have ever had. The prices are average of any high quality hair salon. This is the most well spent money on hair care I have ever spent. If you like an amazing hair cut,style,color that you can also manage by yourself at home, this salon is perfect for you. The hair stylist, and colorists are really good people, this place is highly reccommended. more

I am used to visiting the Tampa location, but decided to check out St. Pete because my work hours changed and Chad is only available at the St. Pete location when I am available to go. I wasn?t enthused about driving to St. Pete during rush hour, but I quickly reminded myself of how great I?ll look and feel when I leave Salon Jack. I arrived in St. Pete via 275 (traffic wasn?t bad at all) and was pleased at how easy Salon Jack was to find from getting off the exit. It?s location on Central Avenue is in a quiet area and far away from the occasional arrogance of South Tampa.\r \r Throughout the 5 years I?ve seen Chad, I?ve gotten not only great service but an impeccable product. Salon Jack uses only the best products (Bumble & Bumble). Before he begins cutting, we always consult. He?s extremely meticulous which makes for an impeccable style. I have never once left the salon the least bit uncomfortable about the cut, color (see Phillip in St. Pete!), or style. \r \r For those of you in St. Pete, you are missing out on the talent that is practically in your back yard. For those of you in Tampa that cannot make the hours of the Tampa location and want to be spoiled by Chad and Phillip, St. Pete is absolutely worth the drive. more

I loved my eyebrow wax! The waxer was so meticulous and took the time to perfectly shape my brows. The entire staff was so friendly and professional, I will definitely be back! Maybe for cut and color next time? Pros: attentive staff, convenient location more

The new Salon Jack in St Pete is just what Pinellas needs! I have been to several ""upscale"" salons over the years and have never been as pleased with my hair as I have with my cut by Chad! He took his time with my cut and was extremely interested in hearing what I wanted for my hair. They are still working on the ""decor"", but I did love the fact that there were some very nice art pieces on display. The salon itself is still very comfortable and hip without being snotty. The receptionist was so very friendly as well as the other stylist! Chad was so meticulous when he was cutting my hair. And the end result was definitely worth the price. My husband said that this was by far my best cut ever! He now wants to go and have Chad cut his hair as well. more

I always get really nervous when I go to a new place to get my hair done. I was put at ease immediately at Salon Jack, though. From start to finish, everyone was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing.\r I had my hair cut and colored by Tracy, who was both attentive and sweet. I found the prices at Salon Jack extremely reasonable, especially considering the level of service offered. I recommend this salon and will definitely do back. I called the salon for an appointment, and was scheduled for 10 am. The salon then called me back, asking if I could please come in earlier, at 9 am, because they made a booking mistake. I arrived at the salon at 850am hoping to look at some hairstyles, etc before my 9am appointment. The salon was not open, there was nobody inside, and the lights were out. I was worried that maybe I had shown up to the wrong location, and my repeated calls to the salon number I was provided were not answered, even though I was told I should call for directions etc if need be. After waiting for 25 minutes, a man showed up, around 915am, who turned out to be my stylist. I find it very unprofessional that the salon was not open before my appointment, when they had asked me to do a favor by scheduling an earlier appointment. \r The stylist was nice, and listened to what I told him I wanted, however, he cut my hair entirely too short. As he was blowdrying my hair dry, he burned my head really bad by repeatedly blowdrying on the same spot over and over and over until finally I was singed by the white hot heat of the dryer. \r I also got an eyebrow wax, and for $20 it was WAY overpriced for the outcome of the service, especially since the average cost range is from 10-15 dollars. I was shocked that a salon that prides itself on its affordibility would be so astonishingly high for a poor eyebrow wax. \r I will not go back to this salon, the poor, unprofessional service is not worth the $73 dollars I paid for a haircut and eyebrow wax. more

i love this place. it is so close to me and nice to visit. i used to see Cristia a few times but for some reason went to supercuts on 4th & that is no where near walking distance for me. The last girl to do my hair was tracey and she was able to keep the layers shaped & stick with the cut i had. She was very talkative & patient with me , i know i am very picky. My only complaint was that she tried to straighten it for me like cristina did but it just wasnt as silky or shiney, It costs more for that so I may just do it at home. I really like going there because something about it is comforting & i really love bumble & bumble. They are fairly cheap for the work they put in, i mean i cant complain when nowdays some haircuts can cost 500-600$ to look personalized. They are very creative and patient and dont rush through it for the money. I usually tip 15$ though because i know they dont make alot. After I had gone to salon jack's tampa location, I decided to go check out their new st. pete location which is much closer to my home. I desperately needed my color done, but was worried that the stylist wouldn't do what I really wanted. my appointment was scheduled with TRACY. she really listened to me and didn't try to talk me into something else. she really knew her color...and let me know that going from bleached blonde to super dark in some areas would fade more quickly. that was fine with me because she told me what products would help and which to definitely stay away from. The st. pete location was a bit more on the quiet side, but the staff's overall energy was high. after all, I think this location has only been open for a couple months? I WILL BE BACK! I had the opportunity to get a color by Phil and cut by Chad. Both were exceptional. I can honestly say it is the best haricut I have ever received. The color is also fabulous. I went from long hair to a shorter style and it was exactly what I was looking for. The salon is relaxed and very convienent to downtown and the beaches. St. Pete needs a salon where the stylists are trendy yet responsive and diverse. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. And I mean anyone, they can do wonders for all types of people and any age. I hope St. Pete supports them and their business is a success because St. Pete needs them!! more

I went to try out a new salon in st. pete., it turned out to be the best salon i've been to. Phil was the guy wgho did my hair. he put blonde highlights in that turned out better than i could have ever expected. not only does he do an amazing job but he is also extremely hot. i wuold reccomend him to anyone anyday. My husband was amazed when I came out of the salon. Phil did a phenominal job. He took his time to cut my hair and he took his time to color my hair. I finally found a hairstylist who can ""GET IT RIGHT"". He is truly talented and I recommend him anybody. Hands down. It was worth every penny. From now on I no longer have to wait until I go back to Toronto to get my hair done. Pros: reasonable price & friendly staff Cons: nothing more
