COUNTLESS health violations!!!! 2/5/2011

This place has so many health violations! you people have to be out of your minds to give this place five stars! This place doesn't even deserve one star! the waiters are so rude and the naan's come out burnt! The mattar paneer is bland and old! they store their lamb in empty paint cans! Which, hey, if you don't find that completely unacceptable, go for it! more

Best Indian Food in NEW YORK STATE!! 1/21/2011

If you're looking for the absolute BEST Indian food you will ever have then this is the place to go. I've had Indian food from New York City to Ontario and this restaurant is the absolute ruler of them all. I'm not Indian, I'm Italian... and the best comparison for the pleasure of eating here is like having that wonderful Great Grandma who makes the world's best pasta fagioli every weekend. Homestyle North Indian cooking at it's best. The buffet is great value and quality for the price, and all of their food is always hot, healthy, fresh and delicious! BUT if you want the FULL experience, I would implore you to order directly from the menu! My favorite is the lamb saga wala with butter naan. I also highly suggest trying the mango lassi - it's like a mango-flavored smoothie. There are rarely any restaurants with this quality of food, service and attention to detail. A peek into their kitchen tells all about their cleanliness and pride for quality... Everything from the floor to ceiling seems to be wrapped in tinfoil daily! What are you waiting for?! If you read this far into my rambling you're wasting precious time!! Sahota Palace is officially endorsed and recommended by Dracker Design Studios and nBrane Cloud Development Studios. - Rob Dracker more

Our FAVORITE Indian food restaurant! 1/13/2011

I take my daughters here atleast once a week. We love it. I recommend the lassie drinks, the chicken curry, the chicken tiki masala, naan, and vegetable appetizer platter :) more

Still a good deal 10/27/2009

The rude woman who appeared to be the manager is no longer there. For those of you who experienced her idea of customer service and were put off, she has not been there in some time now, at least for our last 4-5 visits. Thank god! I feel like it's safe to go there again! More importantly , the food is consistently good, hot, and with enough variety to keep it from getting too tired as a regular feed. They do mix up the meats on the buffet some, but as noted in another review not enough, and they do occasionally have goat, and other more traditional meats. They are always a treat! Sometimes they can get a bit behind refilling the trays, but I don't mind waiting if the food is good. Be aware that it might affect your time factor if you are trying to grab a quick bite. The breads/sauces/chutneys are all freshly prepared and it shows. The price has gone up a little, but it is still a great lunch value, especially for such hard to prepare foods. I would not put them up against some of the better Manhattan, Ottawa, or Paris, Indian food I've enjoyed, but I'd certainly put Sahota Palace near top of the list for your standard Indian buffet lunch. Going there today, (for real) and I can't wait! The palak paneer is killer. Pros: consistently good food, nice atmosphere Cons: buffet might not be refilled in a timely fashion more

Decent Indian Food with good buffet 9/25/2009

The food here is at least as good as the two other Indian restaurants in Syracuse, and IMO much better than the one near the university. The buffet at lunch is excellent -- several appetizers, lots of sauces, and even two desserts. My only complaint is that the buffet never seems to have any meat other than chicken. DISCLAIMER: I have never ordered from the menu, only had the buffet. Pros: Excellent lunch-time buffet Cons: a little shabby in appearance more

Real Deal on Sahota 6/7/2009

This is by-far one of the best Indian restaurants you will find outside of Brampton, Ontario :) Great and Friendly staff...AMAZING CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA and the naan is fresh too! Pros: Great Service, Great Atmosphere Cons: Smaller Selection more

horrible customer service. average food 9/19/2008

would not recommend it to anyone because of the restaurant's bad customer service. Owner, she is very arrogant, rude, doesnt behave well with customers. The food is very much average. And the ridiculous thing is that they dont take orders during night. There is buffett only during night. I guess there are far better restaurants in syracuse than this one.. more

Excellent Indian food in Syracuse 10/22/2006

The food here is incredible. Authentic, very tasty and reasonably priced - what more could you ask for?! Pros: Food, value, big groups Cons: ambience more
