Best

Had a great meal for lunch. Everything we ordered was wonderful. This restaurant had the best service I have seen in a long time. The waiters and waitresses were on their toes ...

Worst

The place needs to expand. It's always overcrowded. The mechanic bull is good entertainment. They serve humongous drinks for about $12. Very well worth the money. You can...

what a mess!! 10/23/2007

The food is average, the set up of the place is a mess. If you don't mind being yelled at by the waiters and waitresses trying to pass through the crowds of people and weaving through the crowded and over-sized tables, then you might like this place. And the door people act like they are guarding a hot nightclub. The service there is not great either. We reminded the waiter three times to get us something just to find out they did not have it. Seriously not worth the hype or the time. more

Eew, Eew, Eew. Dirty, crowded, and definitely not the kin... 8/7/2007

Eew, Eew, Eew. Dirty, crowded, and definitely not the kind of crowd that you'd want rubbing up next to you.... more

Great bar scene 8/4/2007

I went to Saddle Ranch with a large group for drinks one night and could not have had a better time! The drinks are giant - so when you break down the cost, they really are not as expensive as you think they are. The blue drink will definitely do some damage so be realistic about your tolerance. The crowd was pretty young whenever we went and everyone was very friendly out on the patio. Our waitress was very nice and we had nothing but great service. If you need dessert, don't forget to order the giant cotton candy!!! Pros: Great drinks, good service Cons: Parking more

fun times. 5/7/2007

This was actually my 21st bday spot... It was fun, rowdy, and crowded. It was a good night with the girls except that the crowd that night seemed kind of older than the 20's range (the guys there seemed like middle-aged men to me). The drinks are kind of expensive, but the mixed drinks are pretty huge. The parking is pretty bad, but there's always valet if you don't mind putting in the extra bucks~ I totally chickened out when my friends were pushing me to ride the mechanical animal (they won't let me use the correct term) and I still regret it to this day. more

FUN PLACE WITH GREAT FOOD! 2/2/2007

I?ve always really liked Saddle Ranch for a place to go for some drinks, but I never realized that they had such good food. My boyfriend and I went there for dinner a couple nights ago and I was shocked at how good the food was. My steak was awesome. We were way too stuffed for dessert, but I saw a server pass by me with an enormous martini-style glass that was overflowing with the biggest pile of cotton candy I?ve ever seen. It was huge. Anyway, the food was great, the waiter was super friendly and the desserts were definitely something I?ve never seen before. Pros: Friendly Staff, Generous Portions, Great Crowd more

Always a good time 10/25/2006

Been coming the Saddle Ranch for years. Sometimes for dinner, sometimes for partying, sometimes for brunch but it's always a good time. The drinks are stiff, watch out for the Adios MF. The food is good, go with some of the favorites, mini cheeseburgers, chicken fried steak, etc. The staff is super friendly and almost every time I've been there I get a least 1 round ""on the house"". Most of the staff does look like aspiring models/actors, so plenty of eye candy for everybody. Totally different place early in the evening, you can take your family there and have dinner or you can go a little bit later with your friends and have a great time as well. Parking stinks, unless you get there early and take advantage of their valet service. Pros: Drinks, food, ambience Cons: Parking, can get too crowded at times more

""Spring Break"" all the time. 9/16/2006

Crowded, overpriced, so-so service and we were forgotten about while trying to get a table. When ordering drinks, everyone has to be present with their IDs to get one. Makes sense, while most people in the bar seemed to be around the age of twenty-one. If you MUST go, I'd visit on weekdays only. more

Great bartenders made it a really fun place 9/5/2006

I liked Saddle Ranch a lot. I was staying at the hotel across the street for a few days, and we ended up there almost every day. The all you can drink mimosas w/ the purchase of an entree were a good deal, made even better because we were sitting at the bar and I didn't ever see the bottom of my glass. The bartenders were great, we had two different shifts while we were there one afternoon, and every one of them had an interesting story to tell. The food was really good, too, my friend and I split a sandwich and a cobb salad, and we couldn't eat it all. I can't wait to stop in on my next visit. Pros: attentive service and really good bartenders Cons: looked to be very crowded at night more

Not as cheesy as I thought. 8/17/2006

I drive by this place on the way to work every day and I've heard rumors about it being a cheesy meat market along with being the final resting stop for Real World and Road Rule cast members (before they go into a career of low-grade pron). All that changed with my first visit last night with my co-workers. The waitstaff was surprisingly unstuffy, helpful and went out of their way to make our party of 20 feel right at home -- they even assembled a string of tables for us within minutes of our arrival. Even the mechanical bulll, as lame as one might think it is, was an amazing feature and lended an element of fun to the night. I don't know if I'd spend my whole night here, but it's definately a highly recommended stop if you plan on hitting a few bars along Sunset. Pros: Great staff Cons: Can't think of any, but I was only there for cocktails. more

Save a horse, ride a cowboy! 6/11/2006

The waiters here must be the best looking guys in california! Aspiring models dressing in cowboy theme, it's eyecandy! Good bar, good food, EXCELLENT view of the staff- a must see for ladies! Pros: Hot men in cowboy hats Cons: You cant ake them home more

CAN'T MISS TO HAVE FUN WITH THIS PLACE 6/2/2006

this is a fun place to hang out with friends. saddle ranch is full of friendly service--valet, security, waitstaff, bartenders, patrons. food is very good, esp. appetizers for the price. mixed drinks could be better. stick with bottled beer. atmosphere is upbeat and energetic. ride the bull if you get a chance. karoake on tuesday nights. great place for people watching and spotting a celebrity or two now and again. Pros: cheap valet parking, friendly service, upbeat atmosphere Cons: poor mixed drinks more

Hit or miss the bull! 4/25/2006

Don't expect to eat soon on busy nights! Go somewhere else! Service can't take volume. Food was average. Know what you're looking for before going to the place. Pros: A bull, A bar, Outside seating Cons: Overcrowded, Bad Service, Bad Organization more

Yeehaw! 4/8/2006

This place was fun! We celebrated my husband's birthday there and had wonderful service and food. We put our name on the list and told them it was his birthday. All 5 of us were treated to free drinks at the bar while we waited and were seated promptly (20 minute wait) for it being a Saturday night. The menu has something for everyone...including vegetarians. The drinks were great, the service was great, and they didn't charge us for cutting the cake (which they held in their refrigerator for us) and serving it. It was fun to watch others riding the bull and the crowd was really fun, cool, and all ages. There were even couples there with their kids who were having a good time. I will DEFINITELY go back here! Pros: Food, Service, Eclectic Crowd Cons: Parking more

Really Cheezy, Tacky, Loud, and Crowded Theme Bar 2/23/2006

I pretty much got dragged to this place AND the one at Universal Citywalk (the one at Citywalk was WAY worse, with a much trashier crowd), and like I thought, both turned out to be my worst nightmare. One of the cheeziest places I've ever been, and was way too crowded. Completely predictable, and was basically like glorified Lone Star or Outback Steakhouse. Didn't eat there, went there to go 'out' with my girlfriends. Drinks were pretty tacky..we're talking plastic 'yard' type of cups with fruity concoctions, like those you'd find in one of those tacky Spring Break types of clubs. This is one of those bars that tourists go to because it's in the guide books and think it's so great, when in reality all of the good bars in Hollywood aren't listed in the travel guides, and they sure as heck aren't themed. Three words: Disnyworld Meets Bar. more

I love saddle ranch! 8/29/2005

Saddle Ranch is one of the best places to visit on Sunset. The atmosphere is awesome, the crowd is young, and the food is great. Drinks are expensive but well worth it. The service was outstanding, and the staff were wonderful. I would go to Saddle Ranch any night of the week. The bull riding contest on Mondays is fun entertainment. It's a great place to relax, eat and have a great time! Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Food Cons: expensive drinks more

Where is the Service??? 10/24/2004

This place has the atmosphere of a very LOUD Sports Bar. Waited to be seated, waited for server, finally she stops by to tell us she will be with us in a moment. tic toc tic toc. Manager came over to ask us if we needed anything we said ""YES, our server"" shortly after someone came over to take our order we get drinks & some biscuits 20 minutes later no food, server comes over and says the food should be out soon another 10 minutes we decide to leave. We tell the Manager cxl the food and just want to pay for our beverages, at this time the food comes out. Paid for the beverages, left. I do think that they were changing the kitchen line over from Brunch service but still over 80% of the tables in the restaurant had their food so what was the hold up??? Pros: Cobbler smelled good, large portions Cons: , Don't go on Sundays, Plain simple plates more

Horrible Experience 9/25/2004

Last night some friends and I decided to go to Saddle Ranch, but I soon regretted that decision. First of all, the bouncers are super rude and wouldn't let me in b/c I didn't have my ID with me, so they kept on asking us to move out of the way. We were meeting other people there for dinner and they were already inside the place, it wasn't until their waiter came to the front that they let us in. It was a horrible experience, the staff members are rude, except for our waiter who was real cool. I never want to go back to this dump ever again, it's way too crowded with bad service. Pros: Mechanical bull, AMFs Cons: , crowded, parking is far more

A birthday to remember!! 9/22/2004

My friend and I are Irish and were travelling in America for the summer. My 21st birthday on the 13th Septhember coincided with our visit to Los Angeles so we decided to go out for a meal to celebrate the occasion! The concierge at our hotel recommended the Chop House to us but little did we to know the amout of fun, hottie spotting and good food we were to experience that night!! The staff were so friendly and so very very hot, the atmosphere was relaxed and sociable and the food tasty and huge!!! The staff, especially our waiter, hottie at the front desk and the manager treated me like a princess for my birthday and they even arranged a gorgeous cake for me! yum!! thanx for an amazing night and for my first (ahem) legal beer!! Pros: great atmosphere, v. tasty food, brill for birthdays! more

far and away the worst bar experience i' 3/11/2004

the bartender you open your tab with is the only one who will serve you and close you out. great system when your bartender is in the bathroom for 15 minutes! after running up insane tabs, my friends wanted to ride the bull. they paid their $4 and went to stand near the bull operator. there is no line or method of organization. the operator wouldnt let my friends ride unless they tipped him. By last call, he still hadnt let them on so we tried to find a manager, but all of the security guards are cursing at us to get out. you gotta love the weve got your money, now get the ""four-letter word"" out! attitude. turns out the manager didnt care that we hated our experience and wouldnt be coming back either. bottom line - nasty staff with too much attitude. Pros: the string beans more

Saddle Up! 2/19/2004

This is the most fun you can find on Sunset. From the riding of the bull, which is hilarious to watch, to the food portions, which are huge, the Saddle Ranch is a winner. Our server Shannon was great, she got us everything we needed in a timely manner and she was quite a looker too. It got pretty packed at night, but there were enough beautiful people around that it didn't matter. Be prepared to drop some cash if you want to get hammered though. Pros: Good Parking, Fun, Great Food more
