Beware. They quoted us a good price, but didn't tell us about the extras - shuttle fee from airport, cost for extra driver, service and cleaning, drop off. We added the extra driver because we thought we were told there was no extra cost. Apparently not according to their video surveilance camera. When we called to question, they pointed to where these extra charges were registered on the contract - in very difficult to read writing. They ended the conversation with, ""We deal with written contracts, not verbal (oral) ones."" This is a hard core operation - they have themselves covered, but it's not an operation you can trust. more

DO NOT SIGN HIS CONTRACT BECAUSE YOU ARE LEGALLY BOUND BY IT!\r DO NOT SIGN THE BLANK CREDIT CARD SLIP THEY PUT IN FRONT OF YOU!\r DO NOT EVEN WALK IN THE DOOR!\r \r The contract requires you to pay the full amount of the rental even if you return early. They count on the fact that no one reads the fine print on the back of the contract. People assume it is a standard car rental contract like all the others and it is NOT.\r \r I thought the bouncers at the door were to keep the riff-raff out, but I now believe they are to manage disgruntled customers. more

This company is a scandal! I am not the type that would normally need an ""off brand"" company to rent a car, but my credit card was recently stolen and I didn't have the replacement yet, unfortuantely my transmission died and I had to rent a car.\r Everyone lies at this place. There is no verbal disclosure about anything. They gie you an unreadable slip that supposedly tells you that you cannot drive out of Phoenix or out of State, that you cannot put more than 1000 miles on it, that they will charge your debit card for $350 and then hold your money until they confirm that you have good enough insurance after you have returned the car with no damage.\r Then, let's get to the quality of the pieces of SH** that they are renting....they cover the mileage with a black sticker so that you are not aware of the super high mileage, the cars are filthy, yet when you leave you find out that they charge you to clean it!!! The transmission was going out on the one I had.\r They lie about the price which was supposed to be $159 a week, but became $221 for taxes and fees and cleaning.\r On top of it, they are rude to everyone. There were 4 people being screwed when I got there and I should've left but was under the gun to get to work and my ride dropped me off.\r PLEASE DON'T TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY-DON'T RENT HERE EVER! more

I wish I could rate them a negative 100!!! These people are extremely rude and down-right a$$holes!! If you rent from this (so-called) business, you've got it coming to you!! I was told one price at time of rental and a much higher price was charged at time of return. They say one thing and do another. Besides, their cars are complete JUNK and sound like a rattle trap driving down the road. I would NEVER rent another car from this hellhole of a business again if my life depended on it!!! I am surprised they are still in business and someone hasn't wiped them out!! ANY positive reviews on here MUST have been written by themselves!! It is too easy to leave positive reviews... but know one thing for sure... negative reviews ARE REAL!! more

DON'T DO IT YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!! This place is a joke there cars are in horrible shape and there customer service is even worse than there cars. This place is run by sloppy little pig named Dennis Saban who refuses to do the right thing. This place even covers up numbers on the odometer so you can't tell the true milage.And if you do happen to rent a car hopefully you don't like music because all the speakers except one was blown in the car I had. And if that isn't enough when rental was returned kept all my money. Totally agree with Brice Jones (Mar 03, 2011)!\r \r I've been traveling on business for 25 years and have never found a rental car establishment with such shady business practices and rude customer service! Like Brice, I ,too, was quoted $189.00, but for a five day rental.\r \r Read the contract CAREFULLY! There are ""hidden charges"" embedded throughout the contract. Cleaning, ""incidental"" and Out of State fees (and I never took the car out of state) brought my end rental bill to over $291!!!!!!!\r \r And the cars are pieces of JUNK. They one we got was FILTHY... cigarette ash, spilled drink stains, dog hair on the ceiling. The CHECK ENGINE light stayed on the entire time, and the car's brakes pulled to the right.\r \r SAVE YOURSELF A HUGE HASSEL! DO NOT RENT FROM SABAN! They will not tell you about the charges, nor will they tell you about the pieces of junk they rent. THIS PLACE IS THE WORST RENTAL CAR AGENCY I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! \r \r more

“When a price is not the price”\r \r I’m a small business owner and I try and give my business to local small businesses. I had the misfortune of doing business with Saban’s Rent a Car LLC in Phoenix last week. \r \r Saban’s Rent a Car LLC.\r 2934 E. McDowell Rd.\r Phoenix AZ 85008 \r \r I found and called ahead to rent a car from Saban’s Rent a Car and was quoted $189.00 for a 3 day car rental. I agreed to the price and gave my credit card information. I arrived to pick up the car on 2/22/2011 via a shuttle the airport provided by the rental company.. I was asked who my insurance provider was and I answered the Hartford. No insurance card was requested. He made a copy of my driver’s license and charged $400 to my Visa as a deposit. They brought the car around to me and I drove away.\r \r The car was older but operated adequately and I was able to work in the Phoenix area for the 3 days. I dropped off the car and went to the airport.\r \r When I received the credit to my Visa of $75.51 I called to ask why my car rental was $324.49. I knew there would be taxes, but that seemed high. They explained to me about the additional “fees” that were not mentioned or disclosed when I received my quote:\r \r Here are the fees:\r • Insurance automatically added: $32.85 (10.95/day)\r • Shuttle to/from airport: $24.00 (12.00/each way)\r • Parking fee: 3.00\r • Cleaning fee: 11.99\r • Service charge: 2.50\r • Drop off fee: 20.00\r $94.34 in fees on top of the $189.00.\r \r They said that it was in bold print on the back of the rental form. I Read it. It’s not.\r The only thing in bold or clear on the form were; the charges for Parking, Service and Cleaning and the Service Charge (none of which were included in the quote or mentioned). I only became aware of them when I received the rental contract. That accounts for $17.49/94.34.\r \r I rent between 15 and 24 cars a year and have for several years and have NEVER seen a scam like this one!\r more

I rented a cavalier, a truck to move and an impala here before. I never had a problem with any of the cars. I wasn't trying to impress my neighbors. Just needed to get to work when my car was in the shop and a truck when I was moving across town. Uhaul was charging for every mile. They've always been straight with me. more

Went to rent a car at budget at the airport. Had a reservation. They did a credit check and told me I didn't meet the qualifications. I called Saban's and they not only beat budget by a hundred bucks but gave me a rental car hassle free. more

This place is alright with me! Got an older car and it did the job. Went up to Flagstaff to visit some family. I'll use this place again. more

I flew into Phoenix last week. The other companies were charging outrageous prices on a small car or sold out. Saban's was the only place in town that had a resonable price on car. Thanks so much! Car was clean and drove nice! more

Wow where do I begin, this is the poorest excuse for a business ever. This guy Keith (probably not his real name) told me one price for the week, $459 unlimited mileage, The first purple OLD van, with cracjked windsheild, no heat, no indoor lights, broken door handle which could not be opened from the outside, ignition switch jammed and locked, would take 2 people to start it buy giggleing back and forth, warning bell sounding every 15 minutes, and the leaking smell of antifreeze was awful. It had less than 1/4 tan of gas, we put $90 in gas in, but ended up having to get another van in Sedona the next day, because it was so terrible, I did not want my grandbabies in the filth with the bad smells, so we gave them the filled van back and got another empty van this one, a white one had 98K miles on it, also with no gas, no heater, no interior lights, again it was filthy. When we turned that one in they charged us $700, not the $459 they quoted, and they wanted us to fill it up. The man Keith cussed at both me a 63 year old grandmother and my son-in-law and hung up on us. But the worst thing ever, we got no receipt, the only copy we had, (illegible) they kept. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE RIP OFF PEOPLE!!! RUDE FOUL MOUTH< LIARS more

I visited Phoenix recently to watch the Cardinals lose. Great game. Rented a car from Sabans. Price was cool and they arranged a ride from the Airport. Avoided all those taxes. more

I recently was in an accident and needed a low cost rental for a few days. I discovered that it is very difficult to get somebody to rent to me since I am only 18. This is the only place in Phoenix that I could find. Got me a late model hooptie for a week. It did the job til I bought a new Honda Civic. Love my new car and thank you Sabans for renting me a car. more

I live in El Paso TX. I wish we had a place like this here. Rented in Phoneix with no problems. Car was fine, price was cool and location was easy to find. more

I was stressing about my rental I got with these guys because some lady was arguing her rate was wrong in front of us. I rented anyway and went over my charges with the guy. When I got back everything was cool. Cheap Cheap Cheap. The car I got had about 55,000 miles but the price reflected that. I don't know what people are expecting. This is a cash rental place geez. I will go back next time I'm in town. They had a shuttle pick me up at the Airport. Convenient and I saved! more

I rent here once a month and haven't had a problem like I read other people have had. more
