Great place. Friend recommended it a while and just got a chance to get down there recently and wow. Great ambiance and every thing on the menu is delicious . They serve tapas which gives you the chance to try several things from their great menu.. more

Solid selection of beverages, exotic dishes, and rich flavors that will satisfy almost any palate. Had the bacon wrapped dates, caviar bread, Korean BBQ ribs with a full sail IPA and I came away verry verry satisfied. I also know what "linguica" is, so now I know exactly what John Malkovich was talking about. more

I don't go places to be seen. I know food. and this place is everything hat is wrong with the culinary world these days.\r \r Oh you love it? You're part of the problem.\r \r Not every experience is the same. I gave this place a 2nd and 3rd try.\r \r But it is not good. And to say it is, is mainly the reason the culinary world has be bastardized in Miami. more

Came here with a party of 6 co-workers on a Thursday night. Had excellent service, although he was trying to up-sell a little too much. Ordered several tapas and a few people got oysters. General feeling at the table was that all the food was good, some better than others. Everything seemed pretty fresh. Atmosphere inside and out is really lush and relaxing. \r \r As we were a party of 6, gratuity had been added to the bill. The person paying hadn't noticed at first and tipped extra. The server brought the check back to be sure we had seen the gratuity. Because of this honesty, and because it was on the company card, we left the double tip as it was.\r \r I would definitely come back to continue working my way through the tapas and try the sushi. more

I went for the first time with my mother early on a Saturday night (7.30ish) w/o reservations and we got seated right away. We started off with delicious refreshing cocktails; the service was relatively fast and I really liked how they serve the tapas 2-3 at the time so your table isn't too crowded with food. Definitely to try the bacon wrapped dates and the goat cheese croquettes!! The sashimi was also extremely fresh and tasty. A bit of a disappointment in the short ribs that weren't as tender as we had hoped. The atmosphere is young and lively, with a modern vibe. Overall, a GREAT place I'd definitely go back to! BUT if you sit outside in the summer bring tons of OFF! more

Last Night i had dinner , at sugarcane , we wait more than 1hour and 20 min for a table , then service , very slow , noise , and the food very disapoited, i had second plate the ribs and returned because it was terrible , greease , and overcook , service slow , and expensive never go back .... more

Very eclectic menu but has your standard fare (sushi sashimi). Ask for the specials as I had the "head cheese"... Don't ask but it was excellent. Service not the most efficient but overall a pleasurable experience. more

I have been to Sugarcane on several occassions with other foodie couples, and by now have tried nearly everything on the menu. Everything has been outstanding. The food is fresh, quality ingredients, artful presentation. well trained servers, world class Management. Go with a few people so you can try 10 or 15 things or more. Most everything is served in small plates so it's a grazier's Nirvana. I didnt' appreciate the intricate preparation on one dish until I asked about the sauce. It was made from a combination of fresh vegetables, herbs, cooked, then shocked in ice water, then emulsified, then served along a perfect filet mignon. The bacon wrapped dates are an amazing blend of flavors that you don't expect to be as magnificient as they are until you taste it.. That goes for nearly every dish on the menu, duck and waffles, short ribs, japanese eggplant, asparagus, mushroom, brussel sprouts, Robata Chicken, Steak, Squid, Octopus. you really can't go wrong. more

Went there for my birthday and was very happy with everything. The food is great, I like the whole tapas style. We ordered 3 per person and found that to be enough. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. I will be returning soon. more

I've been to Sugarcane maybe 8 times since it opened and have never been disappointed. Service is ok not fabulous but the food is GREAT. I've tried almost the entire menu and have only been disappointed once by something that I cant even remember what it was. Definitely try the Goat Cheese Croquets and the bacon wrapped dates...oh my God they are amazing! I didnt go today but just visited Sustain and was SOOOOO disappointed that I thought why not give props to their neighbor who has it all right. Forget Sustain...definitely go to Sugarcane and even Mercadito is very good. more

Great short ribs; Love the Bacon wrapped dates (Sorry Mom- I stopped eating Kosher long time ago..) Yummy crunchy tuna and although I don't order deserts very often ..... I would DIE for their French Toast....! OH SO YUMMY! more
