Had a great experience at St. Francis Animal Hospital. My Husky needed emergency care and was there for 1 1/2 days. I found there prices reasonable and the staff friendly. I would use them again more

Never work with the mafia group of St. Francis Animal Hospital in Hollywood Florida. After several calls, and rude treatment i was told I could not receive paperwork that my dog passed away last year bc, ""it's in storage"". I requested one piece of paper indicated that in fact he arrived, ""DOA"" bc I'm being harassed by animal services about my dogs tag. The director proceeded to say he would not retrieve my dogs files from said storage (regardless of the $300+ that I paid for funeral services). He said I was trying to obtain a service for free... My document indicating Max passed away. I said I would pay and then he proceeded to say it would cost an additional $50 for one piece of paper stating DOA. When I told him the price was outrages and that I work in the medical field and we do not charge for paperwork, he told me his experience in memorial hospital, where he paid $1.50 per page. I said well that is reasonable. I would pay the $1.50 for the one sheet of paper I needed. He said no. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to and he said no and hung up. \r \r When I attempted to call back, the rudest manager would not transfer me to the director. I again explained the cost was outrageous and since in their computer it indicated that in fact I brought Maximus on March 16, 2013, DOA that they should not have trouble fabricating the proper document. Again, I was basically told to fly a kite. \r \r They are acting like the mafia. Very threatening, rude, and uncomplying. \r \r Please at all cost... Do not take your animal to St. Francis Animal hospital unless you enjoy people taking your money and wiping their feet with you!\r \r #justsaynoto #stfrancisanimalhospital\r #theywantyourmoneyandnothingelse.\r #rudestdirector more

Beware!!! 9/7/2013

Please do not take your animals to this animal hospital. Dr. Ridge (and Dr. Do Luca) is rude and lacks bed-side manners. My dog was being seen for 8 months for a blood disorder. Ridge had her on a high dosage of steroids for a long period of time. At this time we had good faith that this "doctor" knew what he was doing in treating our dog. He ended up almost killing my dog and caused her to go blind! I spent thousands of dollars in trying to cure my dog while this man was actually doing more harm. He never fully researched her conditioned nor did he ever give me a solid answer. I ended "self-diagnosing" my dog and doing my own treatment. I stopped taking her to Ridge (we were going weekly) and ended up curing her besides the cataracts that he caused. Ridge only cares about the money! Dr. Davis and Dr. K were great but they are not there as often. The support staff was also great but in the end you have your trust in the doctor. I regret putting my faith in this man more

Guys, if you love your pets - never, NEVER BRING THEM TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!!!! They are not doctors, they are monsters and killers! \r We came there with my 14- years old kitty.... she was vomiting, she has high blood pressure and chronic bowl disease and we needed help. Doctor didn't allow me following my cat to another room and I don't know what they were doing her, but.... at home we found there traumas made at this hospital!!! Incredible! In the morning I found blood spots on my blanket: they cut my cat skin around anus when shaving and she was bleeding all night. We also found blood in the mouth: the tongue and lips were cut and hematoma on the chin - I just can't imagine what they were doing to her! Muzzle?\r Moreover, she had a terrible, large hematoma on the back paw - I think they squeezed it when putting her into the cage.\r My poor kitty stayed in a terrible condition: not eating or drinking, not moving! As a result - 5 animal hospitals during 6 days, antibiotics, probiotics, pain killers...... a lot of time, nerves and money! \r We came to this hospital to get a help. And what we have got? Terrible, incredible. I never could imagine this horror.\r I think, this hospital and this staff do not have a right just to stay close to our pets!\r more

Dr. Ridge is like the ""House"" of vets! His bedside manner is a little unorthodox but he has dedicated his life to low cost veterinary care and emergency services to pets and their owners. I could not be happier with the service provided as all of the staff were attentive and gave my old girl (she's 16.5 years old) the best care anyone could ask for. I am very pleased with the vet service! Also, Dr. Ridge is all bark with no bite! more

My dog spent 5 days at this hospital (for immune disorder). My first meeting with the doctors were not warm and fuzzy. Most of them are dry and to the point. However, after visiting my dog daily and seeing the care she was given I was grateful for everyone. I was able to call and visit without any problems. The staff went out of their way to comfort my family and do anything to make sure my dog was comfortable as well. The entire staff is wonderful! We still have to take our dog for regular check ups. Since we have been going reguarly the doctors have been more friendly and inviting but their bed side manners isn't my concern. They cured my dog and treated her great while in their care. That's is most important. If ever needed I will definitely return to this hospital in the future. more

Been going to this place for 15 years now, some sad endings, but mostly happy endings. I do not understand what these people on here keep bashing the place, this place is a great vet.... I have visited many others vet offices and none have been as straight forward, honest, and reasonable on the pricing as these guys. Dr. Ridge and his staff may not have to most glitzy or polished equipment , location, or yes... even attitude, but your going here to help your little ones, not have someone kiss your arse. If you want an honest vet who will not try to sell you things you don't need, and take advantage of your animal in order to make a buck - then this is where you should take them. A+ more

There is no star for this business 5/8/2012

There is no Star for this business. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.\r Unprofessional, the first thing I asked was the blood test, which was never done during the 3 days my dog was there. \r "WAS" because my beloved dog is dead, nothing I can do to bring her back. But I want to advise people to NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE. more

Great Service, Great Vet! 2/6/2012

I brought my pet in for emergency surgery. The staff was kind, informative & my 5 year old boxer has made a full recovery from experiencing bloat. I can't thank Dr. Ridge & his team enough! This is the best emergency vet for miles! more

WORST VETERNARIAN 11/13/2011

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! on 11/13/11 we rushed our dog to the e.r. and Dr. Ridge examined him. With the caring and compassion of A SNAIL Dr. Ridge advised us our options. He was curt, cold, callous as he took our dog by the scruff of his neck to make his stand on his hind legs. He advised of a wait til of 2 hrs before he can do anything, but yet when I said OK, he said NOW keep in mind I might not begin exactly in 2 hours...but everything was in his tone and demeanor which made me angry and frustrated. I ended up taking our dog to another ER hospital off Stirling Rd. and they were professional and caring as an ER facility should be. DR. RIDGE SHOULDNT BE A VET OR ANY OTHER LINE OF WORK THAT REQUIRES CONTACT WITH THE PUBLIC DURING CRISIS SITUATIONS. He's obviously too old and tired to be doing this job. more

Any animal hospital that holds an animal hostage for payment should not be in this business. Dr. Ridge is a miserable excuse for a human being and a disgrace to the veterinarian profession. He is more concerned about money than the care of animals. Please do not take your pet to this facility. more

UNBELIEVABLE 8/2/2011

I went to this place with concern for my dog, around 11:30, 12 0'clock at night. Dr. Ridge came in immediatey, and went to work on my dog. He then concluded, after exrays...that my dog needed surgery. I was then quoted by the Doctor himself, on a price for the precedure. I came in the next day, to schedule the surgery, as suggested by the doctor, who was not there at the time. I told the lady at the desk, the quote the Doctor gave me, she told me that i was mistaken. After paying over $250, for my visit, I was told...that i was free to take my bussiness elsewhere. I have been in the custermer service industry for over 25yrs, and never have i been so humiliated. I must admit, Dr. Ridge was awesome, but because of his supporting cast, I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. more
