good place 8/4/2007

I went on a saturday night, and seating was limited, wait time was about 1/2 hr. The seating is arranged with tables very close to one another. Lighting is low, but the view of the NYC skyline makes up for it all. Although it's a steakhouse, I went for the unconventional meatless choices. I had all appetizers. But overall, it lives up to its name. Parking is easy since there is an acre lot adjacent. Bad thing is that it can be so cramped for space on a weekend. It's loud, so you really have to sit close to your date or family member to hear what they're saying. The price is in the high zone. Pros: NYC skyline view; food;drinks Cons: seating and space; loud crowds more

Wonderful Food and Great Service 7/23/2007

I chose this restaurant for my husband's birthday. We had a great time the food, ambience and service was top notch. Our waiter was wonderful. His recommendations were all wonderful including Fess Parker red wine for our meal. I recommend Veal Osso Buco Ravioli, Sweet Potato Casserole, Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. I have no complaints. \r \r , \r Pros: food, service, ambience more

Expensive but great food, could get great views of the Hudson 12/15/2006

I looked up waterside restaurants for my wife's birthday and chose this one because of the food reviews. When making a reservation, I requested a water view, and they said they couldn't guarantee however they'll note that down with my reservation.\r \r When we arrived, we weren't given the water view (turns out half the restaurant's view is blocked by a condo across the street), they reminded us water views weren't guaranteed. Wonder if you have to promise the reservation lady a $20 to be able to get one?\r \r However, the food and service was excellent, though a bit expensive. We ordered the Filet's ($38 apiece) , scarpaccio (very well made), crabtini (incredible too) and mashed potatoes (sides are usually for 2 people). The filet's were very tender. For dessert we had the banana cream pie (for 2), which was also amazing. Note that the food doesn't come with any sides, you have to order every item separately. Sides, desserts run about $9+ apiece.\r \r Overall the food was amazing, though the place was a bit expensive. If only there was no condo across the street, the view would be unequivocally top notch (of the 30's in Manhattan). I would go there again for special occassions (and maybe consider passing the reservation lady a $20 for a view) Pros: Great food, valet parking, great service Cons: A bit expensive, not all seats have good views more

Expensive but good... 4/16/2006

The service was wonderful...we got a window seat and was able to see the water which was real nice. I can't even tell you how nice, prompt and professional our server was. The food was really great, but you have to order sides or you will just get a steak on a plate! Literally. The cheapest steak was 31.00 and thats just the steak. I ordered a side of broccoli and my boyfriend ordered mashed potatoes. The portions were pretty good, but for 9 bucks a side it better have been a good size! The steak itself-i had the filet-was delicious! So tender! My boyfriend had the ny strip $40 which was big, but no where as tender. I think youR better off getting the filet for $33. Salad's were real good. That doesn't come with the steak either. Great service, great dinner..just be prepared to order everything separate. Pros: Service, Ambiance, Food Cons: Expensive, No sides w/ meal more

Vegetarian Paradise..not! 3/16/2003

Deciding that it was time to take a break from being a vegetarian I had Ruth's Chris in mind for a night of 'sin'. I had the Petite Filet-not wanting to shock my system. The meat lacked the taste my nose had hoped for. I knew asking for the A-1 was out of the question so I dealt with it. They sat myself us in the back of the restaurant-away from the noise that I hadn't expected of the dimly lit restaurant. Argubly the best seat in the house-we did feel castaway. Great wine selection, good desert, but the friendly service would warrant another trip. Hey its better than Sizzlers! Pros: Skyline View, Service, Close to home-no toll Cons: Lacking taste, No pseudo-vegatarians, Indescript restrooms more
