Russell Road Animal Clinic

i been going to russel road for a few years now the prices are high but vets are good... but recently i went there with my cat and took my 14yr old grand daughter. were sat in room for 30 mins and the tech named jeff was the assistant. he was flirting with my grand daughter the entire time. as soon as my cat was brought back to me we left. i will never go to russel road again as long as jeph works there . i told him how old my grand daughter was and he ignored me and kept talking / flirting wht my grand daughter waitng for ms kathy to come in ( the vet) i told him her age and he continued to flirt with her commenting on how her jeans looked on her and how her shirt must of been a smaller size even with my comments and than anger repeatelly telling him her age. and he kept on with it. i was a costumer for years with this animal clinic but if they will hire these type of people and continue to keep them employeed i wll not give them my business mrs kathy is a great vet but hires the wrong sorts of people. more

This USED to be a good vet to take your pets to but not anymore! It is over priced and you rarely see the vet. This is not a place that cares for your pet, they care more about your pocket. Most all vets in the area are WAY cheaper! I found several vets in the area that are anywhere from $50-$300 cheaper on just about every service. Not to mention one of the receptionists has the worst oral hygiene I have seen at ANY office. I am not bashing for the oral situation but it shows the standards of their facility. As the first face you see when you walk in , it is not a good impression. They also make you wait so long! They are the slowest and/or laziest people. Half the time you have no idea what they are going to charge!!! You walk in with an over the phone quote of a $100 service and by the time you check out they have reached $350 and they won't bother to tell you either.This office has the personality of a lawyers office not a vet. Maverick is the cheapest in orange park, you wait an hour or 2 BUT they are great! You see a very nice vet every time and the price is unbeatable!! more

I have been using Russell Road Animal Clinic for over a year now and I haven't had a single problem with them. Their prices are always lower than my expectations and affordable.\r \r My beagle puppy was hit by a car a week ago around 5pm. I took him in to see Dr. Canty the following morning after the beagle was evaluated by Mavericks and the Emergency clinic. Dr. Canty kept the beagle for most of the day, gave him an IV, Antibiotics, and medication for brain swelling. I picked up my beagle about 9 hours later (with Dr. Canty calling me giving me updates throughout the day) and the bill was only 97.00! Dr. Canty waived the evaluation fee and didn't charge me for the observation. Dr. Canty also stressed to me that if I needed to leave the beagle at the clinic during the day because I had to work, he wouldn't charge me unless he had to perform medical procedures on him.\r \r I firmly believe that Russell Road Animal Clinic is more interested in taking care of animals than collecting money. My animals will continue to be seen by Dr. Canty. more

A few years back I took in a schnauzer puppy to get his ears cropped. Initially, I had the pre-op consultation where she (the vet) made me feel very secure with making my decision to choose this facility. When I went to pick up my puppy after the surgery they placed him in my hands, and he already had busted stitches...he shook his head and bloode splattered all over my shirt and face. This was my first crop, and they assured me it was normal. After a day of resting for my puppy I looked at his ears, they were uneven both in length and she left more bell on one side than the other. I took him back in 4 days after the crop to show the vet, and she refused to see me. The vet tech looked over the puppy and told me that he had an infection after I had been faithfully giving the puppy his antibiotics, and he was wearing his E-Collar the entire time! I went ahead and told the vet tech that the ears were uneven and she said to give it 2 more weeks because they were swollen. I walked to the check out counter, bummed because i didn't get to see the vet, and was told that i had to pay for MORE antibiotics which i was unprepared for. They sent me on my way with a dog who had an infection from the surgery. I called the next day to speak with the vet...she finally got on the phone with me. Told me that she didn't want me back in her office because i didn't pay for the antibiotics, she would no longer see my pet.... two years after the surgery the schnauzer still looks like he has a uneven fighting APBT crop. Russell road animal clinic is the best place I have ever been. My dog was very sick and was dying so I took my pet to russell road animal clinic and they treated me like family. The doctors were extremely nice and experienced and told me exactly what was wrong and that they would try thier best to heal my pet. They kept my dog over the weekend and kept me updated about my pet often. After the weekend my pet was good as new and has had no more problems at all. Words can not express the gratitude I have tawards them for what they did for me and my pet. I recomend everyone go to Russell Road Animal Clinic!!! Pros: everything Cons: nothing more
