Rumpke Waste Removal

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. We paid extra per month to have recycling service, only to look out the window during a pick-up one morning to see the garbage truck driver dumping our recycling IN THE GARBAGE TRUCK. (It goes in a separate recycling truck.) When confronted, the driver said he was just trying to help out his buddy driving the recycling truck because we were to far away from his route. Seriously. I was then extended a refund for what I paid up till then on recycling. Judging from my experience with Rumpke, this is common practice. They take money for recycling service but it goes in the same landfill as the garbage. To add insult to injury, after I cancelled my service when we were moving across town, they ""accidentally"" forgot to cancel it in the computer, and my account was sent to collections. I have spent 3 days straightening that out, and still can't get a manager from Rumpke to actually send me written conformation that it has been taken care of. Each time I call the manager is ""out of the office."" This company is at best unprofessional, and at worst criminal. Never use this company!!! Cant stress this enough. more

We have had this service for 4 years now and they have done a great job. When we contact them with a large amount or item they have been great at taking everything including a stove and a ton of old siding. Even when they warned us they may not be able to take all the extra they always have. Pros: Picked up everything we asked Cons: none so far more

Somewhere along the lines they changed their rules on how much garbage they will pick up. Now, if I have even one small extra bag they will leave it in my yard (despite the fact that many times I have much less than the maximum but still pay them the same). So not only do I have my regular amount of garbage, but I also have extra that will continue to pile up. They say they will take it occasionally if called first. However, we called and got preapproval for a large item that has now been sitting there for more than two weeks. What are we supposed to do with the extra garbage? I am through with this company. more
