My kitchen drain backed up into the basement. It was a disgusting mess! I called RotoRooter at 9:00 pm. The dispatcher would have sent someone out that night if I wanted her to. Next morning Adam showed up to help, within the time frame window. He was friendly, professional, and helpful. I even had him fix the sink in my master bath that hadn't been draining correctly. It was a lot more work than he had anticipated because of the antiquated plumbing in our old house. He cleared up the kitchen drain line and took care of the bathroom sink for me too. I would recommend RotoRooter again to anyone needing drain fixes. It was a pleasure having Adam fix our mess, and it wasn't that costly either, considering what it would have cost had it been the main line! Completely reasonable. more

We had black water backing up into our basement, and called Roto-Rooter. They quickly scheduled same day service and even called throughout the day to keep us posted on when a service person would be at our house. When Virgil got here he was friendly, professional, and efficient. He gave us an estimate up front for the services, and even gave us the online discount! He took care of the problem, but recommended that we have a camera take a look too. He was not pushy, but let us know our options. He was very helpful and cheerful throughout the time he was here. I would definitely call them next time! more

Our drain had backed up by our washing machine. I made an appointment online which was very convenient. I was given a 10:00 - 12:00 window for when the repairman would arrive. He didn't actually arrive until 2:00 that afternoon. A dispatcher did call every hour however, keeping me posted that they did not have a technician available yet and would call to let me know when one would be arriving. The repairman was able to snake the line and open it up. He was helpful in letting us know what could be causing the backup and how to prevent having this problem in the future. It price was high ($329) as others have stated before but I didn't really have time to call around. I did think that we should have received some sort of discount, or at least received the enzyme product for drain treatment that he sold us for $54.99 for free as compensation for their arriving 2 hours after the scheduled arrival time. Everyone was courteous though. \r more

My call to Roto-Rooter was for an internal pipe back up, and they gave me a service window of 10a-1p. Virgil (Tech 1089) was at my house by 10:30. \r \r He did a terrific job walking me through what was causing the backup...improper use of the garbage disposal. Also explained that food put into the disposal never actually leaves the line (water coming through the line isn't able to push it entirely out to the city sewer). He suggested I buy an enzyme product from them that breaks down food/organic material. The product was $54.00. Normally, I never accept any of the ""add-ons"" that a company suggests you buy, but since I was watching green peas and lettuce back up through my washer drain, I didn't doubt what he was saying and spent the extra money for a once-a-month enzyme cleaner.\r \r Virgil snaked my line (significant block...he was working hard to move the snake), and that was that!\r \r $300 is a bit steep, as others have noted...but frankly I'm one of those people who believes in paying good people a good price to do what they do well...and to do what I can't.\r \r I intend to call Roto-Rooter again. more

Appointment was on time (8:30 A.M.), which was I was very pleased with, considering they gave me a 3 hr window in which technician would arrive (8-11 A.M.). Service person(s) were very hospitable as well. However, I required 1 of my toilets to be removed to apply a replacement wax gasket at base of toilet as it was leaking water at the base. This alone cost $300 (Ouch!).\r Was told this would be under ""service guarantee"", upon further inspection noticed this guarantee was 1 week. Pretty suspect if you ask me, considering the ramifications of this repair not going as planned could potentially cost me in the thousands of dollars (TBD).\r I also had a ""minor toilet tank rebuild, new fill valve and flapper"" on a different toilet. This fix took the technician a total of 15-20 mins to complete. The cost for this was $244, but they gave me a 50% off this fix ""since they were already on site"" ( $122 ). This ""fix"" is currently not working, and i need to get someone back out to redo it, probably resulting me in missing additional work for another appointment. \r $300 for one fix, $122 for additional 2nd minor fix, and in $50 parts for 1 1/2 hrs of work, and another appointment needed to address ""2nd minor fix"".....you do the math. \r more

Very positive experience with routine annual cabling of our sewer line. I really like the convenient online scheduling. The service person was very helpful and informative. The price ($329) seemed a little high, but admittedly I didn't call around, and we have a tricky location. Also, the price included sending a camera through the line, and he copied the video onto my jump drive. Will be using them again.\r \r Disclosure: They offered an incentive for posting a review (being entered in a lottery for a refund), but the incentive wasn't conditioned on the review being positive. more

Kyle James (Tech 2426) explained what he was going to do before, during & at the end, in a manner that I could easily understand. He was courtious & friendly & very professional. He gave me good service & when asked, good no nonsence advice how to avoid the problem again. I would recommend Roto-Rooter to my family, friends & neighbors & I certainly would not hesitate to call on them again.\r The office staff also took good care of me while I waited, calling me & updating me regularly. more
