Roto-Rooter Plumbers 9/5/11 9/11/2011

Had a sewer line plugged and Joe came on a holiday evening quickly to fix the line. Joe's determination to fix a stubborn plugged drain was reassuring. Joe was courteous and cleaned the area he was working in. Joe is an asset to your company. more

Unclogged the drain then wanted us to do more. 9/11/2011

We needed a plumber on a Sunday and our regular plumbers didn't answer. We were able to get roto-rooter out to our house within a few hours. They unclogged the drain, but they were expensive and told us the drain was not fully unclogged and we needed to have a guy with a camera come the following day. We had the camera guy come who told us our drain was collapsing and we needed to excavate our basement to fix it and it would be $4600! We declined, called our regular plumber who came out on Tuesday and told us the drain was fine. We haven't had any more issues. Glad we got a second opinion!! more

Excellent Service 7/30/2011

My toilet was leaking and had been running all night long. I was very worried. I called Roto-Rooter and they agreed to have a plumber come to my home that same morning, which was very reassuring. The plumber arrived right on time. He checked everything out, explained to me what had to be done, and how much it would cost. Start to finish was less than 2 hours. He was pleasant and professional and even my little dog liked him. I would definitely use Roto-Rooter again. more

Fast, Friendly, Professional work 7/13/2011

The worker Chris P. (Technician 4536) was on time and ready to get the needed job done. My tub and sink drain were clogged up and he found the problems starting point and with no hesitation began to clear it up. He was friendly and concerned about my surrounding valuables(1969 Chevelle) . He had given me options for the job as well as cost and an hour or less he was done. We carried on a conversation about water heaters which may be a future project and his knowledge was very good, down to my level. If asked I would refer them to Roto-Rooter and ask for Chris P. more

Roto-Rooter Saved The Day 6/22/2011

My bathroom sink pipe had a leak. Roto-Rooter came the very day that I called. When they knew the plumber was going to be a few minutes late, they called to tell me. I thought that was a good business move. When the plumber, Chris, arrived, he inspected my drain, told me what was wrong with it, and gave me an estimate. I approved the estimate. Within an hour he was done. He showed me what he replaced, and provided me with a bottle of their brand of maintence pipe cleaner. I was really impressed with Chris. If I ever have another problem, I would like him to come and fix it. I was impressed with the efficiency of the company. I did not expect a plumber to visit the day that I called. Roto Rooter Plumbers - Date of Service 4/27/2011 4/30/2011

Being new to Monroeville, I do not know anyone to ask for plumbing repair, and I had an emergency; my kitchen drain was leaking badly. I called Roto-Rooter. They were there within an hour. We discussed the repair and agreed on a price. The repair was made and they were out of there in about 30 minutes time. I was satisfied. more

Bad Sales Practices - Don't Use these guys 10/26/2010

Roto Rooter responded to a service call to clear a clogged external drain that connects the house to the sewer line. We were informed the price would be $290.00 to clear the line. The technician pulled out a drain cleaner that was about 3/8"" wide, put it down the drain for 5 minutes and said he couldn't clear it. Then said he would transfer the fee for cleaning to run a camera down the pipe. He ran the camera down about 5 foot said everything was totally clogged and we would need to tear up our driveway to determine the extent of the problem. He still wanted 290.00 for 10 minutes of work. He then tried to force my husband to accept an Initial bid of $2900.00 written on a post-it note with half down immediately to start working on the problem. He became increasingly upset and aggressive when we indicated that we would call another company out before deciding to tear up our driveway. He also indicated that the $2900 was only an initial estimate and would probably go up from there ""depending"" on what he found. The ""bid"" was only good for one week, but if he left and then came back, it would be an additional $290 more since they would only ""discount"" the service call if we decided immediately for him to do the repairs. He then refused to accept a check from us and wanted our credit card numbers. We declined to give them to him and told him to take the check. We had a reputable master plumber out the next day who cleared the line with appropriate equipment and no issues. more

attempted rip-off 4/15/2010

Had Roto-Rooter come out to give an estimate on a sewer clog. It was completely outrageous and tried to get us into work that wasn't needed! Never again!!!! Cons: outrageous cost, work add-ons more

Roto Rooter Saved a ""Wedding"" Day 7/29/2009

On a recent Saturday morning 5 people needed showers to get ready for a friend's wedding my son was in. While on a trip to the basement I noticed a sewage smell and upon investigation, realized that the sewer in our 70 year old house had backed up. While I was staring at the flooded basement floor, another flush made it worse. I called 3 local plumbers as well as Roto Rooter. Roto Rooter's dispatcher was the first to return our call with a guarantee of a service visit within 2 hours. As time passed I called the dispatcher again, needing to be reassured that we did not have to go to a neighbor's to get ready for the big event. I was impressed not only with the professionalism and timeliness of the dispatcher's repsonse, but I appreciated her ability to calm me down. Bill arrived within the promised time and immediately opened the sewer line. Before he left he discussed preventive and maintenance measures for future invading tree roots. I was VERY pleased with Roto Rooter's responsiveness, professionalism, and empathy in a difficult situation. We all made it to the church on time thanks to Roto Rooter.
