Our washing machine backed up and water flooded up into the bathtub. We called the plumber from Detroit and he arrived promptly a short time later. He was courteous and knowledgeable and quickly assessed the situation. Another plumber from Detroit arrived with a camera to look through the pipes and found that one of them was broken, hence the backup and flooding. Although we are still working on the problem, we were glad to be able to find out what the basic problem was. more

We were having problems with our sump-pump intermittently not working, with the high water table in our area it was a problem we needed to fix right away. We called roto-rooter and they came out the next day. Turned out the pump was very old and not worth fixing, the technician had a new pump in his truck and installed right there on the spot. The whole visit took less than an hour and was very reasonably priced. No more worries about a flooded basement! more

The Roto-Rooter plumbers were friendly, helpful, and willing to thoroughly answer all of my questions. My house was built in the 50's and I have lived there for 7 years. We have never had problem with our sewer line, until a few weeks ago. When the technicians arrived it only took them a few minutes to find the ""root"" cause. It took about an hour for set-up, cleaning of our main sewer line, and final check. If we have any more problems in the future we'll be sure to call a Roto-Rooter Plumber. :) more

Very prompt, same day service. Service persons were courteous, efficient and even moved my furniture. I didn't like the fact that they cannot give pricing over the phone..not even an average. I think the pricing could've been explained more clearly. I guess I must've missed something in the price review because when they were done my bill was double the normal price that I typically have paid in the past to have this routine service done...snaking the roots out of my sewer and storm wihtout a camera. Bill: $497! Then they tell me I may have a problem, but they wouldn't know for sure without the camera. They told me this after they had already cleaned up and put everything away. My receipt says to come out with camera:$195! Yet when I asked them how much it would've been to put the camera down at the time...$30 extra...yet a manager on the phone said it would've been a free courtesy but they don't carry cameras on each truck. So they agreed to bring one back this weekend for free. Then they asked me to turn on my sink and poured some solution into it and explained how to use it and said it cuts down on grease and just left it on my counter. Never mentioned a cost or asked if I would like to purchase. I assumed it was included and my receipt shows no cost, etc. Turns out somehow I was charged $50 for this so although I cannot see the charges on my receipt, but they are crediting this to me. I think although they were courteous and prompt and so far appear to have solved my problem, I feel I got ripped off. Everyone I have spoken to says that that was WAY too pricey for what I had done. more

We recently came home from vacation to discover our shower drain was plugged. We called Roto-Rooter for service and were told we would be called 30 to 45 minutes before the technician would arrive. 30 minutes after the call, he was knocking on our door. Rather than assume the drain was the problem, he took the time to properly assess the situation and how to resolve it. Approx 35 minutes later, he was done. He was polite, efficient, professional and left the bathroom as clean as it was when he arrived. I'd definitely call them again. more

Roto-rooter sent out one of their plumbers to assess our situation, later that day a plumber named Dave graced us with his presence. He got right down to business, gave us a fair price, accepted our online coupon and did the work even when I had to leave for a quick errand. In addition to doing an excellent job, providing us with his personal cell phone number and telling us about their 1 year free re-do in case the work didn't hold up, he also was wonderful with my wife and dog. My dog was given a biscuit by Dave and he then spent a bunch of the time lounging around near Dave while he did all his work. All in all, it was a pleasant, efficient job and I would highly recommend Roto-rooter to anyone. more

From the initial phone call all the way to when work was finished, the service was impeccable. The serviceman, Kyle Mulloy, was extremely couteous and very personable. He explained every detail of the service provided which was clearing the main drain in the basement. He worked dilligently and cleaned very well after work was done. We recently had to call a plumber from the Roto Rooter in Detroit. Michael McDonald was our service person. Not only was Michael very professional but he was extremly helpful. He helped us decide what was they best thing for us to do with our plumming problem. We ended up having to replace our old sink for a new one and replace some pipes.. After 5pm on Friday, June 24th, 2001 I had returned home and found that my bathroom sink faucet was no longer just dripping...it was running and would not turn off. I immediately called Roto-Rooter and the woman I spoke to told me that she would do her best to find me a technician even though they were all booked on other jobs. Within 15 mins I received a call stating that there was a technician available, named Todd, and that he would be at my house within 30 mins. TODD WAS WONDERFUL! He was courteous, professional, explained all charges up front and thoroughly presented me with all the options so that I could make an informed decision. I felt confident that I had made the right call to have Roto-Rooter service my plumbing issue. I cannot say enough about how Todd went out of his way to work through my issues (no shut off valves existed, rusted plumbing lines, my indecisiveness as to which faucet I would like to purchase to replace my existing one, and a dog that continually wanted to make friends).
