Best

I'd personally recommend, if you're hungry that is, the "Ultimate Burger" as it is sincerely blissful. I had to split it with my husband because it was so huge. Then comes t...

Eat Dessert First! 2/5/2012

I highly recommend the desserts -- but they are so huge you may want to split with a friend or bring home half. Good salads, nice place to meet for lunch - but leave extra time to find parking. Pros: null Cons: null more

Terrible customer service 9/8/2009

long drive to get there from Fairfield on my birthday. What a disappontment! The service was absolutely horrible. I've been to a lot of places and this is the worst I've been treated in a long time. Their staff certainly could use some customer service training. Rosines is permanently off my list, but I'm sure they don't care. Pros: decent location Cons: customer service more

Delcious! 2/16/2009

Definitely a family oriented restaurant. Delicious food, and drink. Not exactly cheap, but then again..you're in Monterey...nothing is really cheap. But affordable...yes. \r The deserts are definitely the highlight. Their pieces of cake are huge, and worth every dollar spent and pound gained. more

A great family restaurant 1/6/2009

Good food and a nice family atmosphere make Rosine's our favorite restaurant when visiting Monterey. We always save room for their yummy and HUGE slices of cake. Prices are reasonable, especially for the cake. more

BIG CAKE PLACE!! 11/6/2008

We love Rosine's. We always stop here whenever we're in Monterey. They have a huge selection of dishes but make sure you leave room for...BIG CAKE! They have at least 10 different kinds (look in the glass display cabinet and try not to drool). These cakes are about 6 to 8 inches tall with 4 layers. Whatever kind of cake you get, like a Snickers cake, will have at least a dozen Snickers bars chopped on top and mixed with the icing. Not kidding, everyone has to try this!! more

Rosine's...an AWESOME family restaurant! 10/30/2008

This family friendly restaurant has tastly homecooked meals! It is family owned and has very been around for quite some time! Parking is easily found and staying to eat is well worth it! You are also walking distance from the wharf if you want to walk off the great meal! more

Rosine's is our favorite! 6/2/2008

We are locals and eat at Rosine's probably 2-3 times a month. This place is always packed and the servers are friendly. Our favs are the brunch specials they have on the weekends with a mimosa or for lunch I like the salads and my dh orders a burger or a sandwich. We just ate dinner there recently and their teriyaki steak with mushrooms was the best I have ever had. The broccoli had a topping on it that even my son would eat. The kids menu was nice because it kept my son and daughter happily coloring. We shared a piece of cake, omg! Pros: The food Cons: sometimes parking or waiting in line for a table more

Over-rated and misleading 5/9/2006

The website claimed the restaurant was award winning; apparently, this award was just for their cakes which were as not moist as an award winner should be. The cakes must be judged solely on size. Calamari was ordered for starters and when it arrived, I thought the waitress had mistaken us for another table. The calamari looked like chicken strips: thick cut like a steak fry and coated in a heavy, seasoned breadcrumb breading. I'm lucky I'm CPR certified. I ordered the angel hair pasta with basil and tomatoes. It was greasy and tasteless (they could have at least cooked the pasta with some chicken broth) with a congealed slab of grated cheese on top and near complete absence of basil. The prices were over the top for the quality of food. I've left restaurants disappointed but never near angry before. Pros: Pleasant hostess, Good location Cons: Food, Food, Food more
